Zeplin Pub

I have been to Zeplin Pub at least 4 or 5 times. Though they boast a large collection of beers and whiskey’s, most are not available. Make sure you look at the ***** to see if it is available or not, if it has an asterisk they dont have it. Despite their inability to change menu’s on a consistent basis (or ever) their food is decent and the vibe I like. It is a nice place to sit and have a beer or a drink, and some pork products if you are into that type of thing. The service is OK. I find myself coming back to Zeplin over and over, so clearly I am a fan.

Indeed, Zeplin has a wide range of beers, wines, spirits, and cocktails. It’s rather impressive. They also serve pork (!!!) products, which was shocking and intriguing for me, a long-​time resident of Istanbul — I’ve never seen a place serving bacon!
I was impressed by the number of beers I had never tried, so I ordered something different, a Strawberry Cider. My British friend advised me that a lot of the beers were «mass-​produced,» meaning not good in British English, I guess.
They had standard beers on tap — Hoegaarden & Guiness notable.
However, as a warning, if you try to order something different there’s a pretty good chance they don’t have it. I ordered about 4 different drinks before I stumbled on something that was actually available. This leads me to believe that their menu is basically for show. There’s probably only 50% of the beers on the menu behind the bar. And they’re all bottled, and all overpriced.
Sooo two stars may seem a bit low but honestly I wouldn’t go back unless I was craving the «pub» experience and had a lot of extra money.
The whole experience was soured by the fact that the waitstaff had added an extra drink that wasn’t in stock on the bill. Although he was polite in apologizing and removing it, I still found it too be very unprofessional and took it even more personally since we were a group of foreigners. Careless.
Kind of a hit or miss experience at this place. Go knowing what to expect!

I seriously don’t understand what’s the fuzz about standing in front of a bar for hours and drinking there. Well this is all I see at this place! There is more people outside, than inside! Well, I could understand if the prices were cheap but they are all really expensive, too. Gotta admit, they have a pretty rich beer menu. But still, I would rather buy those beers from Rind, a great liqueur store just 50 meters away.

Very cool bar in the Moda area.
Hoegaarden on tap and loads of other beers from around the world. It would be 5 stars but the staff were vacant and took ages to get drinks.
Huge range of whisky and other spirits too — well worth a look if you’re on the Asian side of Istanbul.
