Saray Hotel

Warning, a mosque view is great and all, but not at 6am when they start prayer. It can get quite noisy. But it sure was beautiful!
They offer free wifi but it was so spotty I could only get it at the edge of the bed.
Location was right across from the grand bazaar and walking distance from Sultanahmet square.
The room itself is nice, but the bathrooms could have been cleaner and nicer.
They do offer a free hamam for guests, which is actually really cool, unfortunately I didn’t get to partake in it, but it’s still nice they offer that. We got free breakfast on their rooftop restaurant, which has great views too! The staff spoke fluent English, Spanish, and Turkish — and they accept USD, Turkish Lira, and Euros.

Modern, clean and Quiet! After a long day of walking thru the busy streets of Istanbul’s historical sites, it’s a welcoming retreat. Even the reception has a spa-​like feel to it. Staff speaks English fluently and highly professional. I recommend just the standard rooms away from the steet and overlooking the courtyard. Rooms are clean with a quiet central air. They even give you slippers. A Safe is available inside room. We will definitely come back.

Great location for walking to most of the hot spots! Grand Bazaar, Spice Market, Hagia Sophia, Mosques, many more… Sound proof windows and walls to keep out the city noise and call to prayer in the wee hours of the morning.
Front desk is awesome. Friendly and helpful. Breakfast selection is great. Outdoor balcony seating with great views as well.
Tram line stop is also just in front of the hotel for easy access.

This hotel is highly recommendable. It is located very central in the Bazar District and only one tram stop away from Sultanahmet. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. If you have any questions about the city or need any help just contact them. They’d be happy to help.
The room we had was also totally fine. It was clean and well equipped and even thought the hotel is right next to a big street we never had any noise problems.
If you are there you should definitely use their hammam. It’s free for hotel guests and open daily till late hours. For a few Euros extra you can also get a massage.
Oh, and try their restaurant. It’s on the top floor with a great view over the whole city. If you have breakfast included you will anyway come here in the morning. But also a visit in the evening might be something to consider. The food and the service left nothing to be desired.
We had a great stay there and would happily come back.

Ich war im Juni 2011 für 5 Nächte im Barcelo Saray und kann dieses Hotel wirklich nur weiter empfehlen. Die Lage an der Strassenbahn (T1) ist optimal und auch der Busbahnhof liegt in unmittelbarer Nähe. Sehenswürdigkeiten wie die Sultanahmet Moschee und die Hagia Sophia kann man bequem zu Fuß erreichen und selbst Eminönü (Hafen) ist zu Fuß kein Problem (ca. 15 – 20 min). Das Hotel selbst ist sehr sauber, die Zimmer haben eine gute Größe und auch das Bad ist wirklich klasse. Ich hatte ein Zimmer im 4. Stock im Innenhof und es war super leise. Der Service im Hotel ist sehr zuvorkommend und aufmerksam. Im Foyer stehen zwei Computer mit denen man kostenfrei ins Internet kann. Alles in allem kann ich das Hotel für einen Trip nach Istanbul nur empfehlen.

Eins ehr schoenes, sauberes hotel mit erstklassigem Service und ausgezeichneter Lage.
Die meisten Sehenswuerdigkeiten erreicht man zu Fuss. alternative faehrt direkt vor dem gebaude eine Strassenbahn, die nach Sultanahmet (Haghia Sophia etc.), Eminonu (Faehren ueber den Bosporus) und hinauf bis zum Dolmabahce Palast faehrt.

Voici l’hôtel à l’emplacement parfait et au confort irréprochable que je recherché à chaque première découverte d’une ville nouvelle dans le monde.
Au cœur d’Istanbul, en plein Beyazit, à une minute de l’arrêt de tramway, trois à pied de la colonne de Constantin et cinq de Sainte Sophie et de la Mosquée Bleue, voici le bon plan par excellence que je conseille à tout qyper.
Les Barcelo appartiennent tous à une famille éponyme originaire d’Espagne. Ce sont à chaque fois des hôtels de charme, et je n’hésiterai donc pas à choisir cette enseigne si l’occasion se représente.
Celui ci dispose en sous-​sol de son hamman (mixte) et d’un masseur (professionnel) privé. Comme le hamman est en accès libre jusqu’à 23h chaque jour, il permet de se relaxer chaque fois que nécessaire dans l’esprit du pays, sans pour autant remplacer les vénérables hammans de la ville bien entendu.
Autre point fort des lieux, les chambres avec vue, à demander si possible au moment de la réservation. La vue en effet est magnifique, puisqu’il s’agit de Sultanahmet, l’une des plus anciennes mosquées de la ville, à l’aspect si traditionnel d’Istanbul avec ses dômes entrelacés. J’ai fait la démarche, bien m’en a pris, la vue est unique et sans rapport avec les autres chambres qui donnent sur des cours intérieures.
Outré l’accueil et le service, le dernier point fort est le restaurant en service continu, que nous utilisions principalement pour le buffet de petit déjeuner. Situé au dernier étage, il permet de disposer d’un panorama de Beyazit qui, outré la mosquée précitée, englobe l’Université d’Istanbul sur sa gauche et le Grand Bazar sur sa droite. Vue parfaite et regard bercé par le doux flottement des deux immenses drapeaux turcs qui dansent au gré du vent du Bosphore tout proche.
