Peymane

Of all the restaurants we ate at in Istanbul Peymane is definitely our favorite. The beef and lamb dishes were all tender and very tasty. The ingredients tasted fresh and the service was top notch. I definitely recommend.

Went to this place twice and it is AMAZING! One of my favorite restaurants and meyhanes. Both times I came with a large group and they sat us across from the large grill that they cook the meat on. We enjoyed all the mezes that they brought out such as the eggplant dip, roasted red pepper in yogurt dip, etc and it goes nicely with the fresh pita bread they serve. The meat is very tender and juicy. For large groups, there is a set menu which is what we got and although it was pricey, we were not disappointed! This is a must go for anyone who wants to indulge in some great Turkish food!

Peymane is worth it. Ive been twice now and it was amazing. The mezzes they have are fresh and goes perfect with the house made pita type bread. When they have the set menu going, take advantage, you cant really go wrong w any of their dishes!

Such a cool hang!!! We went for a birthday party and we were upstairs, across from the ocak (oven/​grill) and could watch all of the beautiful meats and veggies coming off. We decided to go with the fixed menu for our group, as it had all of the things we’d generally eat anyway at a fair price. We had some great kebabs and the meze was awesome. The wait staff were kind and took good care of us, we were a group of about 12 people. Looking forward to going again!

We had just arrived in Istanbul on a saturday evening. It was close to 10 pm and we still hadn’t had dinner. This restaurant was nearby and came with a recommendation, so we decided to try it. When we showed up it all looked like they were ready to close, since we could not more than a few guests. So it was not with great expectations that we asked for a table for two.
We were imidiately set up to the second floor (in a very small elevator) and when the door opened we were meet by a wave of loud voices, laugther and the smell of grill. We were given a small table and was pleasantly surprised that the noise level wasn’t too loud. On the contrary, the atmosphere was almost electric.
We had several different mezes, two different kebabs, desserts and two glasses of wine (for two people in all). A bit too much too eat, but we wanted to try everything ;-) The wine was decent, but everything else was very nice. The staff was sufficiently attentive. All in all a 4 star experience, but the room and the atmosphere raises it to 5.
We went back a few days later. This time the restaurant had far fewer guests. The atmosphere was very relaxed this time, the food was still very good and would have been very nice evening if we didn’t feel we constantly had someone looking over our shoulders. Overly attentive waiters are just annoying. Please stop that.
