The food and service here were brilliant. I think we went here 4 times in the five days we were in Istanbul, twice for dinner, twice for lunch. The staff were so helpful as well, eating out while abroad is always difficult when you have allergies but the staff rustled up gluten free versions of a bunch of the dishes for me and even managed to get some gluten free bread for me! My favourite dish there had to be the hummus and minced lamb starter, I even came back on my last day just to have it one more time as a snack.

It wasn’t very busy when I came here and I had made a reservation just in case. The décor is nice, and the restaurant was nice and warm. I had a dish here, for which I don’t know the name. It was a yogurt kebab type dish that was one of the best dishes I had in Turkey. I think it was one of the popular dishes there. Their sauce they used was yogurt based and just bursting with flavor and hit every sense of my taste buds. I really enjoyed that dish, and if I wasn’t already so full I would have seconds of this. The service was on point. Prices were reasonable but on the expensive side for Turkey. You should definitely come here for a nice meal! Delicious food!

Excellent ottoman food upscale. Wait staff is very professional and speaks perfect English. Food is reasonable price with typical portion size for nicer restaurants. I ordered the calves liver and the sole kebab in sauced eggplant. This was extremely good. It was a friendly and easy introduction for me to ottoman cuisine. I left only wishing I could have sampled more dishes from their menu… I guess I will have to go back. Although I do not drink, they had a very high end wine offering which most of the tables around me seemed to be fully enjoying. There is also a bar on the roof terrace if you fancy a trip after or before dinner. Dinner finished for me with an apple tea and mint flavored Turkish delight. So good. The walk back home was lifted by a perfectly presented meal of new and balanced flavors for me. I want to try more ottoman cuisine, but I’m afraid that if I go somewhere else it will only confirm for me that this place is special.

The Resturant is nice and clean, it’s in an ally with other restaurants looks really cool and relaxing. The service was great better than other places I’ve been too. The food tasted great I got the Turkish meatballs really enjoyed it. Also ordered the veg soup which was awesome, but I have it a 4 cause it’s lacking in the menu more items and even though the meatballs were good there wasn’t enough

It was our 10th wedding anniversary and we made dinner reservations for Pasazade while visiting Istanbul. Our first impressions of the establishment were very favorable, with nattily dressed wait staff and simple, yet elegant décor. Upon confirming our reservations, we were shown our table and found a chilled local white wine bottle waiting for us, compliments of the restaurant. Mahmut, our server, was attentive but not hovering… although I was impressed with how our wine glasses and water glasses remained topped off… always a good sign of great service to me. I ordered the Hunkar begendi(Sultan’s favorite; beef entrecôte on eggplant purée with cheese and milk, veal, apricot, apple, raisins, tomato sauce) while my wife tried the Terkib-i Ceşidiye(lamb with dried apricot, almonds, walnuts, apple, honey, parsley, served with wheat pilaf). We both loved our dishes… and didn’t want to try the others’ dish for fear of messing with the flavors of the dish we ordered for ourselves. Needless to say, we were members of the«Clean Plate Club» for dinner that night as we savored our dishes. We topped off our meal with some baklava(flaky and not too overpoweringly sweet) with some vanilla ice cream(with some savory toasted flavor) accompanied by some Turkish tea and apple tea. Easily the best dinner we had during our visit of Istanbul(not Constantinople). Very pleased that we chose this place for our anniversary dinner… scored some points from my wife. The price was also very reasonable for such an elegant presentation and sumptuous meal. I would highly recommend this place. We stayed by the Four Seasons Hotel in Sultanahmet district and this place was an easy walk from there. NOTE: While dinner reservations didn’t seem to be a requirement, it is highly suggested, especially during the busy seasons

Food was ok, not really special. However, the restaurant is very nice, and might be one of the best in the neighborhood. A note to visitors: everything in this part of town is overpriced. Go here if you can’t go somewhere else in the city.

This was definitely the best meal we had in Istanbul. The dolma was absolutely to die for. Probably the best dolma I’ve ever had in my life. The manti was also quite fresh and delicious. It seemed that most of the people eating here were tourists, though maybe a quarter were locals. Our waiters were very pleasant and appropriately attentive. Eating outside on the semi-busy street was also great for people watching. This was one of the only places that served us Turkish delights at the end, which was a nice touch.

We came here for lunch, after enduring a drenching rain and long queues for all the local venues in the Gulphane area. We were initially the only folks and then a small tour group was brought in. We had at least 3 waitstaff bringing us bread, and a paneer like cheese amusee bouche. Due to feeling chilled to the bone, we both ordered the Ezo gelin corbasi– hot red lentil soup. I would love the recipe. We next had two hot appetizers: arap tava(minced lamb and beef with peanuts, various spices all over superb hummus, and pazi dolmasi, using chard as the wrapping, A generous pour of Amfara wine was quite tasty. To complete the meal Lokum was served along with Chai. There are so many more restaurants to try, but if we found ourselves in the same spot, on a rainy day, I would at least want a bowl of their soup.

We hit the jackpot with this place! We had dinner on a weekend – immediately got a table; no reservations. There were just 2 of us dining, but we had at least 3 guys making sure we were taken care of; we had a constant supply of bread and drinks. We got the mixed appetizer plate… not huge portions of anything but a great way to try lots. Loved the eggplant sauce. We ordered the seabass & spinach dinner – AWESOME! To Die For! Then dessert was rice pudding… an awesome way to wrap up an incredible dining experience. Super awesome location – picturesque. This restaurant is a little dressier than casual.

This restaurant was just around the corner from the hotel in a street with a couple of dodgy looking places. With the whole open glass front, it doesn’t look that cosy from the outside. Service was super attentive and took their time for recommendations and detail. We had the Sultan Morsels(a beefsteak done to order served on some pilaf with beans and onion sauce) very nice. The wine was Amfora, a Turkish wine from Asia Minor which went well with the beef. Some Turkish delight for dessert. All in all a very pleasant surprise. They also gave us the wi-fi password when we asked

This restaurant showed up on a top ten list on Tripadvisor, but I didn’t find the meal here to be anything special. The service was outstanding, but the food was pretty pedestrian. Perhaps I’m just not enamored with the idea of paying high prices for the same sort of Turkish food I can find much cheaper elsewhere. Don’t get me wrong — there’s nothing wrong with the meal here, I just didn’t see how it could possibly have been a «top ten» type of restaurant.

We made reservations at this restaurant but probably didnt need to, it wasnt as busy at 7 when we arrived. They do have some wines on the menus, but we drank beer as it is a bit easier on the wallet. The mezes were delicious, but probably ate too many of them! 1 – 2 mezes is all you need The meal was delicious! I had a veggie hot pot, and it was great. My fiancé and I shared a dessert plate that was for 2 people. all the desserts were great, but the best is the baklava!

First night in Istanbul on our honeymoon and we decided to give this place a try as it was ranked fairly high in the Top 10 Tripadvisor restaurant listing in Sultanhamet. The food and service exceeded my expectations. My newly husband has become gluton-intolerant and the waiters here went above and beyond to accommodate. Our waiter took his time to explain the dishes which were gluton-free and even allowed us to cancel our wine order for another after already having poured us a glass. In addition to the excellent efforts put forward, he even covered us on my entrée selection since I barely touched my food although I had explained it was because I was stuffed silly and not because of the food itself in any way. The stellar service and the delicious food helped make our first night here even more memorable! Food notes: meze sampler gives you a nice selection of 6 appetizer spreads and the duck stew and seabass were bursting with fresh flavor! Do not hesitate to come here if you are looking for a nice atmosphere with friendly staff and stellar service!!!

Hmmm. a little torn on how to review this place. We were recommended this place by other attendees of our conference, who had seen this place as a top ranked restaurant(somewhere in the top 10) on tripadvisor. When we came in, the first thing we noticed all the diners were tourists, which usually signals to me that the place will not be that awesome. However, I’m glad that I stayed. Do I know if this is authentic Turkish food? No idea! But it was definitely tasty and reasonably priced. Everything me and my friend had was excellent(duck stew, chard dolma rolls, some beef stewy sorta thing). Staff was polite, speak excellent English, and are almost ridiculously good with customer service. When ordering our food, we asked questions about the chard rolls, and went back and forth before finally deciding to order them(we’re not typically veal eaters). However, we definitely presented the info in a very confusing fashion to the waiter. Not surprisingly, the chard rolls never came out and after we informed the waiter, he apologized profusely and proceeded to give the rolls to us for free and also gave us dessert on the house. Really nice and actually almost completely unnecessary given that the mixup was very understandable. But the excellent customer service was greatly appreciated! In sum, good and reasonably priced food which may or may not be authentically Turkish and over the top customer service.

Great restaurant; service was excellent, and the food was one of the best we have tried in Istanbul. Definitely not overpriced like many others in the area, especially for the service you get. Walking distance from Topkapi Palace and Hagia Sophia, a must try in Istanbul!
