You’ll need a GPS to find this treasure somewhere in Istanbul between the Spice Bazaar and the Grand Bazaar but the climb up the hill will get you ready for delicious pide, which is Turkish for pizza. Similar to pizza you may have enjoyed elsewhere, these are hand tossed dough that are topped and formed into a boat shape before going into the oven. Three masters at work here. One master pizza tosser and topper. One master baker. And one master organizer who runs the phones and manages the deliveries.(You can take it to go or eat at one of their tables.) There are a few different toppings available — lamb, cheese, chopped veggies — and they are made to order. But there are only a certain number of doughs and when they’re out, they are out. There are bottled and canned drinks available. My Cola Turka tasted just like RC Cola!
