Ortaköylü Kumpir Evi

I am writing this review a while after I have been here. But for the first time that a foreigner has kumpir, I know this is the place to go! Our guides took us here not only because of the excellent service, but because they were willing to explain in excruciating detail what the toppings were and which combinations were best. For your first time, don’t overload yourself with different toppings. I had the beet topping with corn ketchup and too many other toppings that it overloaded the flavor. Keep it simple! And this location is excellently placed next to the mini bazaar and other great restaurants (most importantly, the water!)

Von einem türkischen Freund haben wir den Tipp bekommen, hierher zu kommen und an einem der zahlreichen Stände eine Spezialität auszuprobieren, nämlich Kumpir. Auf diesem Platz in Ortaköy reiht sich ein Kumpir-​Stand an den anderen, so dass eine Entscheidung erstmal schwer fiel. Wie genau der Stand hieß, an dem wir unsere Kumpir orderten, weiß ich nicht mehr, aber es war auf jeden Fall eine gute Wahl. Für alle, die nicht wissen, was Kumpir ist: eine riesige Ofenkartoffel, die leicht ausgehöhlt wird und dann das Innere mit Butter und Käse vermischt wird. Dann kann man sich mehrere Zutaten auswählen, z. B. Mais, Zwiebeln, verschiedene Gemüse Das Ganze war gar nicht mal teuer und hat wirklich super geschmeckt! Von der Menge her haben wir es kaum geschafft, und über die Kalorien darf man sich erst gar keine Gedanken machen. Wir sind jedenfalls dankbar, dass wir dieses Kumpir-​Schlaraffenland in Ortaköy kennen gelernt haben und können jedem empfehlen, mal Kumpir zu probieren! Es muss nicht immer nur Döner sein :-)
