Wow. This place is just awesome. It is the best vegan place I found so far in Istanbul. You really can feel that this café is running with love. I had a vegan breakfast, a fruit tea and sat outside. The breakfast was very cheap(Between 10−15TL) and what we got was so delicious and so varied. One plate with many things. From hummus to some homemade sweet jam. So many tastes on one plate. The service was so kind and warm. It is real homemade stuff you can see that directly. The interior is very simple but I like it that way. On the windows there a information about nutrition. What kind of vitamins are in one fruit? How much calories has a potato? I am living on the European side and I would go all the way just to eat there. Check it out!

Actually, I’m not vegan, but I like falafel and so on. But Mahatma’s cuisine is not perfect. Falafel and desert was too stale, it was hard to eat them. And taste was not fresh and perfect, as I was waiting. Russian-speaking girl was cute and good, helped us to make an order. Maybe, it was not their best day, but I expected more.

Adorable little café off the beaten path in Istanbul… you have to travel to the Asia side to find it. Food was flavorful and not similar to American vegan food at all. Everything was wholesome and healthy, nothing fried and no fake meat products used. The staff at the establishment are very sweet and accommodating, but speak very little English, and at the time I visited there was no English version of the menu, so be sure to have a word translator on your phone if you don’t speak Turkish. Overall, delicious food and wonderful to see a completely vegan restaurant in Turkey!
