Like another previous Unilocaler, we too were led here by our culinary tour guide from Culinary Backstreets. I have to say it was pretty amazingly tasty. We had their Borek with cheese which was cloud like, and golden crispy and just melted in your mouth. Layers of crispy filing dough, yielding to a noodle-​like center filled with a feta like cheese and fresh spinach. They carry the Turkish designation of «Usta» which is bestowed upon a particular expert at their craft, which these guys clearly are. Also tried 2 types of Baklava which were served warm out of the oven– OMG. The best ever! A big thank you to Gonca who did a fantastic job of touring us through some of Istanbul’s finest culinary treasures. Unforgettable!

We came here based on the recommendation in «Culinary Backstreets.» They under-​rated it, if anything. The borek melts in your mouth. It is rich and creamy and just fantastic. One of those things you will remember for years after and wish you could eat again. We then had the baklava, which is warm and also fantastic. Wish we could pack this place up and bring it home with us!
Don’t debate – if you are near, drop in for a memorable snack of Borek!
