Another one of my favorites in the Bar Street of Kadiköy. Walking up to the first floor of Dunia you stumble right into the bar. As far as the interior goes(but frankly not just in that respect) Dunia meets my taste perfectly. The bar itself is held in white and has some little square pieces of stained glass worked into the top part.(Okay, I suck at describing it, you should go see it!) Similar to Arka Oda the furniture seems quite antique, but generally Dunia is much brighter and conveys a very different atmosphere than Arka Oda. Mellow indie-pop is played in the background, which gives it a nice touch. As custom in the bars here, everyboy pays when leaving the bar. This can cause some confusion when you’re there with a large group and not everybody remembers what they had to drink. So if you’re the last to leave your check might be bigger than expected. Btw, a friend of mine who’s allergic to cats once got her allergie triggered here really bad. We are guessing there must have been a cat there at one point — so if you’re allergic yourself try and keep that in mind.(And have some antihistamines ready if worse comes to worst!)
