This is totally my favorite spot in Kadıköy! And it should be yours too if you are a coffee addict. Note that its concept is really far away from the concept of Starbucks(or similar coffee shops). It’s mostly a «coffee to go» place since it’s really tiny(I’don’t think they even have a toilet?). They have no more than three ‘mini’ tables perhaps. But I’m sure the fancy and totally delicious desserts will make you wanna stay there. I say, if there’s an empty spot, don’t miss the chance to try one! Çekirdek is the actually the first place who sparked the coffee place fashion in Moda. The owner seems to be an expert on coffee(there is a good coffee menu) and he’s a really good cook(You’ll see when you get one of those desserts –or sandwiches. –Oh and yes, he makes them himself, daily.) He sells coffee beans, too. If you’re interested brewing coffee at home, you may want to try it. But I should tell you, the beans are really really expensive. It’s cheaper to have your coffee just there. So except coffee beans, I can tell that the prices are mostly reasonable. Be aware of the closing hours, though! I haven’t really asked for the reason but it’s closed really early in the evening, usually around 8 or 9 pm. Although I’m a really huge fan of this place, that’s the reason I gave this place only 4 stars. Well still, in my heart it has even more stars than 5 :)
