Met a friend for lunch at Vee’s Bistro for the first time today. The restaurant is small but very nicely decorated and has a comfortable atmosphere. There’s a weekly lunch special menu as well as the normal a la carte menu. I tried the yellow curry with Chicken and Jasmine rice from the lunch special menu and was pleasantly surprised. The taste is not as pungent as what I am used to but the flavor is very delicate and authentic. It was a little bit difficult getting the waiter’s attention as the restaurant was packed at prime lunch time but they were attentive once we do manage to get their attention. Glad we made a reservation for a table ahead of time.
One suggestion for improvement for the restaurant would be to brew their own house tea instead of serving up tea bags to add more authenticity to the experience.

The food was «ok», but they have a VERY bad policy for ordering items that are not on the standard lunch menu. I ordered a Massaman Curry and was charged arounds 12CHF over the normal price of a meal, because it was not on the standard luch menu. However the staff did not warn me of this, and it was not also written anywhere that this is what the policy is.
The staff must warn people that expensive extra charges are given for items off the menu they they can decide for themselves if they want to pay the extra «fine»! Things like this can give a restaurant a bad reputation, and I am very active with online reviews.
Because of this I will not be going back, and my colleagues also said the same. Shame.
