I stumbled across this great wine bar on my first night in Zurich. I also had the«best hamburger in town» for 40CHF… and as another notes here, it is very overpriced. BUT food is in general in restaurants in Switzerland. So we have to suck it up! I had some nice glasses of wine too. Next night I came back to drink some«real wine», which is the reason to come here. Very modestly priced 2005 Pichon Lalande is on their menu, for example. I did not get this but thought seriously about it. I had the lamb, which was super, especially with the wine I had. Great atmosphere too.

My favorite must to do here is: Champagne nights on Tues and Saturday. It’s a great deal if you are celebrating something special and you are planning to drink more than 3 glasses. For a lightweight like me, I can easily drink 3 glasses without a problem. I even heard one person telling me that he once went there for lunch and stayed all the way to dinner time, just to maximize the all you can drink champagne on a Saturday… But of course the whole time they kept ordering food time to time as good patrons would. I guess their Sunday wasn’t too productive. I’m not sure I’d recommend you to do that but it’s a funny story worth telling. I’m not one to rant about prices because I will pay for food that is worth it. But I find myself paying almost 40 bucks for a hamburger that doesn’t really even sum up the best I’ve ever had. The 40 dollar hamburger tries to be snobby Zurich gourmet and ends up tasting exactly that way as it falls short of unique mouth exploding flavor. I normally go for the beef tar tar here, it’s nice and you don’t feel like someone stole a bit of your wallet after eating it. Come here if you want a nice atmosphere with friends for dinner… A plus is if you loooove champagne(I like the real deal, let’s pass the prosecco). And make sure you think twice before blowing 40 bucks on a burger here!

Had the stracciatelli and it was good but nothing amazing. The waffle come was really good though!

If you feel like having wine without spending hundreds CHF, Mövenpick is the place! You can order a glass of wine from around 7CHF and also get a bottle of wine around or even under 20CHF. This is too good to be true!!! Food menu is small but you can find a reasonably priced nibbles. Flammkuchen is around 20 – 24CHF. I don’t recommend it though… The crust was too hard. Chicken Caesar salad(big) is 19CHF. They also have burger, tartar and other anti-pasti. Service is excellent. Very friendly and attentive. PS: Online food menu is different from the restaurant menu. For glass of wine, you can ask for tasting before you choose :)

Like Nick alluded, it’s more of a wine bar with food than a restaurant. A decent high-quality wine selection although more limited than I would have expected given that Mövenpick is one of the largest wine importers and distributors in Switzerland. I was shocked and delighted to see a California Cabernet on the list! It seems somebody knows what they’re doing! Didn’t get the opportunity to sample the grub. Next time! Service was quite attentive and friendly.

More of a wine bar than a restaurant, this place is the heart of the city centre, just around the corner from Kaufleuten. It comes with a classy atmosphere, the tables are surrounded by bottles of wine. The service is also very attentive. Recommended to make a booking because it is popular. They currently have a 35CHF champagne degustation. That’s right, you heard it, 35 stutz and all you can drink champagne. Needless to say I got involved in that and therefore can’t really offer any more advice on the quality of food or other offerings. But I left very happy :)
