Best Western Kom Hotel

Excellent hôtel, de style simple et fonctionnel, propre et calme, très central et avec un excellent rapport qualité-​prix. Bön petit déjeuner, surtout les gaufres suédoises, mais pas de restaurant ni de room service. Personnel serviable.

Pleasantly surprised — a great place for he money — excellent breakfast — moderately tight accomidations but sufficient. So — just to be clear — this is not a lavish luxury resort… and the public areas or facilities are far from lavish. We didn’t try room service or their bar … and the only public space we used was the breakfast area and compact efficient lounge area… which was OK for the needs of recreational tourists like ourselves. Staff up front was incredibly friendly and a bit better then we expected.
So — up front one bit of potential criticism… Across the street they have a strip club which was (I was curious) some 500 crowns to get in /​/​topless only/​/​and a block to the left or so was another strip club (again I was curious) which was some 700 crowns to get in — with a 2^nd more exclusive downstairs area which I vaguely recall was 1000 crowns??? Sigh… so aside from having these two shady establishments so near — I would say they are unlikely to have even been noticed if not for the fellow at the front desk casually mentioning their being there? Not that I asked or that he recommended them to me —
So — the lobby always had a courtesy coffee machine which also dispensed hot cocoa! Each evening we got back cold and grabbed a hot cocoa — sat to chat then turned in. The location was more or less central to Stockholm — and I am glad we were not further from Parliment and the old town where spent much of our time. I can easily recommend those who value a fair deal on an excellent property with good breakfast!
About the breakfast. Breakfast featured a wide variety of beverages. Some dispensed from fountains — and several from disposable cartons. There was wet bacon and scrambled eggs (not so perfect but OK) + a waffle maker which needed a spray non-​stick handy. Several pastries and breads were available with lots of spreads, butter, jams, and such. Cheeses and sliced meats were plentiful and useful to fabricate sandwhiches. Yogurt and cereals with a nice selection fresh fruits to sprinkle in. There were also a few traditional looking Swedish dishes — fish in sauces plus other odd looking things… like a little flat cake of unknown material with little alfafa sprouts fgrowing out of it. All in all a fairly nice breakfast which exceeded our expectations. The staff seemed a bit serious at times though — perhaps some of them were having a bad day? Sigh???

Gutes Hotel für einen Städtetrip
Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral, daher für eine Städtreise sehr gut geeignet. Da es vom Preis her schon eher günstig für Stockholmer Verhältnisse ist, muss man einige Abstriche machen. Alles in allem aber: sauber, Zimmergröße absolut ausreichend, Babybett vorhanden, freundliche Rezeption. Die Gäné des Hotel versprühen ein wenig 80er Jahre Charme. Was uns fehlte: die Minibar (war anscheinend mal vorhanden, denn den Schrank dazu gab es noch, nur war er leer :-(
