Kings Head

Definitely the place to go if you are new in town, without a doubt the friendliest place in the city. Great service, one of the only pubs on andra långgatan with full table service. The beer is the cheapest in town (along with kellys and sejedln) and the peanuts are always free. It is packed on weekends but if you are at all social, it doesn’t become a problem. Did I mention how friendly people are? The cheap beer attracts a very young clientele, expect to feel like an oldtimer if you’re over 30. A bit of a hipstery student crowd, but far more chill than the nearby hipster pubs. It is the dive bar to end all dive bars. Décor isn’t even so bad, biggest complaint about the ambiance is the cheap beer gets spilled often. I have drank here more than any pub in town. A huge english speaking foreign clientele.

I heard this is THE place to be for AfterWork during the week if you are young, broke, and hungry and in the Andra Langattan area, because they have a food buffet of sorts for free if you buy one drink. I just went on a random Sunday night, and the crowd was just chill and mellow. The bar had typical wooden décor interior, and I have NO idea why it’s any different from Queens Head pub right next door. It’s not one of the nicest looking places to drink on Andra Langattan I’d suggest you NOT to get their wine, it wasn’t very good, so prob stick with beer or harder shots. Their Chili Nuts ROCK and got me kinda addicted to them throughout all of Europe. I’m going to have to see if I can find them in Hawaii anywhere. All in all, I was pretty impressed with Gothenburg nightlife, but this whole area of Andra Langattan is probably much more happening during the weekend and the summer time, is my guess. Oh and, it’s cool that I’m writing my FIRST OVERSEAS Unilocal REVIEW EVER!

A great & cosy place in Gothenburg! They have a lot of beer & other drinks. Furthermore you can get a lot of food. The prices are cheap for Swedish circumstances. Kings Head is always very crowded. Anyway you easily can find a place at anyone’s table. The people are very nice there & it is easy to talk to them. The stuff is very friendly & kind too. You definitively have to visit this bar & enjoy the atmosphere there! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Update: last visit February 2012 The Pub still exists & didn’t lost any of its charm! The drinks & the fingerfood are good. The prices didn’t rise like in other locations in Gothenburg. It feels good to go there meeting some friends & have some drinks! Furthermore Stigbergsliden the youth hostel isn’t far away.
