Zugoi Sushi serves one of Stockholm’s more superior sushi according to many. The place itself is not very appealing and could easily be mistaken for your typical around the corner sushi eatery. However, the food Zugoi offers is more tasty in comparison to other places within the same price range. Especially the salmon nigiri melts in your mouth. So if you happen to be the district and get a kick out of sushi, I advise you to visit this place.

We went here because of the great reviews but were a bit disappointed when we came in. It’s a small place without much appeal, but if the food’s good, so are we. The waiter was very friendly and suggested a plate with different kinds. The taste was disappointing when you expect 5-star food. I got a really bad stomach ache and my friend as well which makes us suspect the food wasn’t that fresh. Conclusion: despite the extremely friendly service, the food just didn’t live up to to our expectations.

My husband and I are from California where sushi restaurants are pretty decent all around. Traveling in Stockholm we have found this absolute GEM of a restaurant! The sushi is absolutely phenomenal!!! The fish is fresh and delicious. Melts in your mouth. The staff is extremely helpful. We don’t speak Swedish, but the owner was able to explain everything to us on the menu no problem. This place is the best sushi we have had. Hands down, we will be coming back here when we visit Stockholm again!

The previous reviews, which I believe were unanimously awarding Zugoi five stars, may have unfairly inflated my expectations, so when I tried their sashimi, I was not stunned. This is one of the better sushi joints in the Stockholm area, but not among the best; the distance to Råkultur and Tokyo Diner is significant(also the price is very different, to be fair). I will also choose Svenska Sushiköket over Zugoi if I am in that district, but only by a small margin. I also believe that their sushi are better than their sashimi.
