We stayed in this hotel for the Stockholm portion of our Scandinavia trip and the accommodations, staff and layout were quite pleasant. The only complain I have is that they are not exactly close to a metro stop as advertised. It’s a decent walk, around 10 minutes and that’s in good weather. When it’s snowing, it’s much more difficult. I think this hotel has a «hotel» side and a hostel side. We were in the hotel side and our room was decent enough along with the bathroom. One bothersome thing was that the first night, there was lots of noise from the hallway and the hotel staff didn’t seem to do much about it. It died down after about 20 minutes but it was enough to wake me up from a deep sleep. The hotel provides two breakfasts, one in the«bar» area and one in a separate area on the«hostel» side of the hotel. After looking over both selections, we opted for the«hostel» side breakfast because it was nearly identical and a cheaper price. I would stay here again if in Stockholm, now knowing it’s distance to the station and that occasionally people can get rowdy in the halls. I would bring earplugs in case you are a light sleeper but overall I think this hotel is worth the money.

I’m a little on the fence about Hotell Zinkensdamm. The actual size of our room was nice considering the fact that this is more or less a hostel and I liked the breakfast they offered in the back for only 90 kroner. Unfortunately, it was incredibly loud inside, the linens were a little low in quality, and the walk to/from the train station with luggage was nearly impossible(I’m convinced Stockholm doesn’t believe in using shovels for their sidewalks). I do think this is still a decent spot and the price was reasonable, but definitely bring some earplugs and your own towels.
