The food trucks in Stockholm have been an increasingly common sight in recent years. Unfortunately the quality has usually left a lot to be desired and the price quality ratio has often been a joke. I was therefore a bit skeptic when hearing about the Tori Truck. Stockholm is not a great city for Japanese food so why would a food truck do a good job. Agnes(the CM in Stockholm) is however reliable when it comes to reviews and recommendations so after her positive remarks I wanted to try it. As it is a food truck the locations vary so check their FB page where they publish the weekly schedule. The menu is is short and fairly easy, opt for either yakitori or yakisoba or one of the tofu dishes with similar sauces. Price level is decent with 75SEK for yakisoba and 80SEK for yakitori. I opted for the Yakisoba and it was very good, tasted authentic Japanese and the chicken was good quality and plentiful. It is not gourmet quality but good street food. I also asked if I could add a skewer of yakitori and they threw it in for free so very pleasant service. The yakitori was also good but for me it is a dish that is better suited for a real izakaya where one can down a beer or two. In terms of food trucks in Stockholm this is by far the best(granted it does not say much) and I am definitely going to eat here again.

Tori Truck parked outside our office today. I tried the tofu bun with yakitori sauce and chili mayo(45SEK). It was delicious! My colleague had the tofu yakitori skewers with two Japanese salads and rice(70SEK). Great crispy texture to the locally produced tofu. The service is pretty slow so don’t go if there’s a long line and you’re in a rush. They accept all credit cards including AMEX but no cash.
