This was my first time getting help cleaning from«professionals» at home. I absolutely love the concept of the app — you can book cleaning any time of day, any number of rooms, etc, even inlcuding dish washing, window washing, whatever.(Just keep in mind you have to book at least 24 hours in advance.) You can also set a time limit on it, although if you leave it open then the app will calculate how much time it thinks is needed for the amount of rooms/work. I booked cleaning of 2 rooms plus the bathroom, and allowed 2 hours for the cleaning. The app is much like Über in the sense that you can see who is coming to clean — interestingly, though, the app showed my cleaner as a man, and a woman showed up at my door! Oh well though, doesn’t really matter to me — but it would feel more secure to get the person it says you will get. She arrived 15 minutes early. I asked about how the rooms are usually divided, as I wasn’t sure if the kitchen and large hallway counted as rooms, for example. She told me that usually they start with the kitchen and bathroom and then move on «if there is time left». Hm, okay. Well, the bathroom and kitchen are the most important parts anyway for me, and what I really wanted help with, so that’s fine. She cleaned for two hours rather precisely. On initial inspection I was thrilled — everything seemed so fresh and clean! She only had time for the bathroom and kitchen though, nothing else. At first I was going to give four stars — the cleaner was friendly and professional, I thought, and she did a great job. But looking at things a bit closer, there are several things which strike me as odd. There were mildew stains on the wall in the bathroom, which I specifically pointed out to her before she started — and they’re still there.(To be fair I can’t get them off myself either, but when you hire a professional cleaner you expect them to…) She had unscrewed the lightbulb from the kitchen lamp(why? to dust?) and put it back on improperly so that the lampshade wouldn’t sit in place — and just sort of left it hanging there. She didn’t mention these things to me –why not? And why did she have time to unscrew a lightbulb but not get rid of the mildew? Also, she apparently wiped clean the microwave — which is good — but the numbers on the panel, which used to be normal, clear numbers, are now all smudged away. This must be some weird reaction with the cleaning product used — which isn’t her fault, but why not mention it? Finally, when she finished she pointed out to me that the only thing in the kitchen she didn’t have time to do was to wipe the crumbs of the kitchen table. That’s fine, that’s super easy, I can do that in five seconds — but it does beg the question, if I can do it in five seconds, why couldn’t she? She was very nice and helpful and I am still very glad that the kitchen and bathroom are clean and that I didn’t have to do anything! But, if you’re going to pay up towards 800 kronor to have someone clean your house, I would think that you would expect it to be a bit more professional.
