Oldest confectionery in Sweden! I like how they kept the interior of the place intact, very historical. Sandwiches and pastries are pretty good. It’s one of those tourist hot spots you just have to go to, when you are in Gamla Stan. Outdoor seating available during the summer. Free refillables for house coffee.

I came here for the kanelbulle. I ended up buying 3. That was breakfast and it was damn good. I almost walked out because an American couple walked away from the counter and muttered, «What a crabby bitch.» I really wanted kanelbulle so I persevered. Not sure what happened but she was very pleasant to me. I did my best Swedish, which is awful, but was understood as my order was correct.

If you want to try one of the famous Kanelbulle, this is a place you’ll have to go to! It’s a little small but if you manage to find a table, you will not be disappointed.

Great little place in the heart(or maybe the kidney) of Gamla Stan(Old Stockholm). We hunted around the entire area and this was the only place that had«drinking chocolate.» Note that this is not what you think of when you think hot chocolate. It’s much, much thicker. They called it «Italian style» but we remember it best from Madrid and Buenos Aires. Get it with the whipped cream and a pastry for dipping. You will be in heaven! I like to get a cup of coffee on the side and pour it into the last of the chocolate/whipped-cream mixture. The seating is tight because the place is tiny but well worth the visit!

Gamla Stan is packed to the rafters with coffee shops, restaurants and bars, so it was a hard thing to pick one from the bunch for a quick refuelling stop. Having wandered around Riddarholmen and Storget, I hadn’t quite found anywhere that caught my eye until stumbling into Jarntorget, a much smaller square at the foot of Gamla Stan, near the bridges over to Sodermalm. Sundbergs Konditori looked like the most significant café in the square, so I popped in to see what the offering was like. I was nearly put off immediately by the attitude of the lady behind the counter, who was a bit harsh in her answers to the people ahead of me in the queue, pointing towards the coffee refill as if it was blindingly obvious to anyone where it was. She wasn’t much warmer to me when I came to make my order for a coffee and a raspberry cream cake — it was all a bit brusque and unfriendly. But to be fair, she was on her own at the time and may have been for some time before I arrived. The order placed, I was able to quickly find an outside table and enjoy a bit of people watching while I scoffed the cake, which was delicious. For some reason, I decided against going back in for a coffee refill. The coffee and cake worked out at £6.50 which is at the upper end of what you might want to pay. There is only one toilet for customers, so time your use of that.

I love this place. It was our favorite place in Stockholm. We had breakfast there once and afternoon snack. We wanted to go back before our plane left, but they weren’t open yet. We just have to come back! I think this is the best place to have hot chocolate, omelette, and cake(yes even for breakfast). I highly recommend this place!

The oldest pastry shop in Stockholm, founded in 1785. We liked very much this place, very nice décor. We enjoyed the ver good pastries and hot chocolate beuverages with cream on top.

This is a simple elegant place to take your afternoon coffee(Fika) a tradition in Sweden that is immutable. It is rather small for the crowd but once you get your table you are back in the 1920s — or even the 1800s. You get your coffee from a large copper pot in the center of the front room. Cakes are mandatory in Sweden — and luckily there are a lot here to choose from — some of the best I have ever had in fact. So after a long day of shopping on the island — before you head south over the bridge — stop in to Sundbergs for Fika. It will stay in your mind like a coffee paradise — forever.

We had apple and blueberry pie and Danish pastries. Pies was nice but I had better. The cream of the pie was nice and tick. Pastries was little dry and lucked that vanilla custard flower I so much love. Place was nicely decorated but really crowded and small. If it wasn’t such a cold day sitting outside would have been fantastic but as it was we had to crap up inside. Definitely not enjoyable experience as everybody who was queuing to give their order watched us while we were enjoying our food. Coffey was nice and you can have extra cup if you wish to.

After a walk through the streets of Gamla Stan Sundbergs Konditori is a good place to recreate yourself with a cup of coffee and a tasty piece of cake. It’s realy nice to a seat in the sun and watch the(other) tourists passing by.

Street appeal is great, you see a shiny chandelier and cute windows. Once you open the door is is downhill from there. Overpriced pastries and small coffees and lattes. No available seating and even when there is, be prepared to have all of your personal space invaded by the people at the table next to you. With so many bakery’s in the area, why not go somewhere else? They also had not one option for caffeine free tea.

Sundberg’s Konditori is a great fika spot if you are in Gamla Stan! All you can drink coffee and fabulous pastries. It’s usually pretty crowded, but that’s only because it is arguably the best coffee in Gamla Stan, and has a charming, old-world feel. It’s a great place to immerse yourself in the Swedish tradition of ‘fika’ if you are visiting Sweden for the first time.

In the tourist trap that is today’s Gamla stan, Sundbergs is welcome relief. Beautiful cakes and pastries at very reasonable prices. Charming, old-fashioned interior. I can’t wait to come back on my return to Sweden!
