This is one of the places my daughter brought all visitors to when she was living in Stockholm. On our visit, we didn’t match her personal best for total bread spikes eaten, but everything else about the meal was a rousing success. The ox cheeks turned out to be a sublime meat and potatoes experience and the sauce /bread dipping combo was like having a whole ‘nother wonderful meal. Rolf’s is a textbook example of what the Swedes do best.

Great place. This had come up on Unilocal but was out of area where we were really trying to stay. But then we ate at the sister restaurant, AG, where the server highly recommended this also. The amazing thing was that the manager/host here recognized us from seeing us at AG the night before(well, we had gone out of our way to compliment him on our way out). He took us without a booking, perhaps because he recognized us – but I also told him I had messaged for one. My wife had pork and I had fish — both excellent — and we ended with a rhubarb sponge cake for dessert. Very good service, excellent food. Tables all very close, typical of an urban restaurant. Highly recommended — and I do not always do that.

One of my favorite restaurants in Stockholm. I often use it as a safe card when I’m to lazy to try out new places. Dishes are always made with high quality and staff is super nice.

Fantastic, and very reasonably upscale lunch joint. I went with two others for lunch with no reservation. They were busy, but they were able to get us a table. They have a lunch special each day, or an a la carte menu if you prefer. Beware — the menu is brief, but entirely in Swedish! Our waiters were very nice though to translate and there is also a great Google Translate app you can google. The food was very authentic Swedish. Our special was salmon with dill sauce, potatoes and potato soup. All delicious. Great service, trendy décor, professional service, reasonable prices. What more can you ask for as a tourist?

Oh man. Oh man oh man. You know when you have eater’s remorse when you order a thing and it’s amazing and then another things passes by you because you so cleverly sat right next to the kitchen and you wanna eat that thing too and before you know it you realize you’ve energetically eaten all the things? I ate all the things at Rolfs Kök, and they were delicious. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long long while and certainly in Stockholm. Pro-tip: Sit at the bar and bring a napkin to clean up your drool.

Rolfs Kök was recommended to us as an interesting local spot in Stockholm(apparently also frequented by Marcus Samuelsson of Red Rooster fame in NYC) so we stopped in for dinner on a Tuesday night and really enjoyed the whole experience. The restaurant itself is cozy and warm with rows of tables and a large wrap-around bar. The menu presents a seasonal offering of Swedish fare including some unique items, all of which were presented with flair. We enjoyed a couple of starters including a delicious crab salad before moving onto the memorable mains — I had the braised short rib which was excellent and served with a small pot of delicious potatoes. Overall, a hearty, satisfying meal to stave off some Stockholm winter! Rolfs Kök also has a great selection of beer(including some nice local brews) and wine to go alongside the meal, and we found the service to be friendly and accommodating. A reservation is recommended since it seems like it can get very crowded(it’s popular!) but overall, worth a try and I’d love to come back to see what else is in store with the change of seasons!

This restaurant is really one of a kind. Right upon walking in, I was greeted and shown a place to sit in a very busy restaurant. I believe her name was KVall, she was nice and pleasant to talk to. The restaurant is cozy, you can see into the kitchen and kitchen staff at work from the bar area. They serve bread with salt and butter for free along with water. Salt and butter together, try it!!! Looking at the menu, there is not a lot of clutter. It’s simple and neat. Tons of wine to chose from. I saw bottles as high as 2,500 sek. Cocktails and beer are also available at a more reasonable price. I had Ox Cheek in red wine sauce and Swedish Cheesecake. The Ox was cooked perfectly melt-in-your-mouth. It reminded me a bit of venison but not as pungent. The Cheesecake had a texture of tofu which I didn’t like. It was recommended to me by a customer but I wouldn’t buy it again. As I glanced around and saw others dishes, they all looked good and nobody left anything on the plates. Definitely bookmark this one. If you’re in Stockholm I highly recommend giving them a try. I paid about 400 sek for myself with no alcohol including tip.

I decided to come here because of its place on the Michelin guide as a Bib Gourmand restaurant. It’s located near a huge shopping area and a not-so-short walk from major places. Walking in, the inside is dimly lit and has a pretty bustling atmosphere. It’s a bit cramped though. Unfortunately, service wasn’t good at all. We had two separate waiters come to us, and they were both incredibly unenthusiastic and a little passive aggressive in their attitude like we were inconveniencing them. It was also a little hard to understand them. They didn’t really come to us unless they were bringing food, and the food came out pretty slowly(like 20 minutes for the main dish to come). [FOOD] Oysters à la Rolfs Kök: I highly recommend this starter. You get 3 oysters that are baked to perfection and a house-made hot sauce that’s very good. This was scraped clean easily and quickly. Pork Confit: The meat itself was okay. The very bottom is a little tough to chew, and the rest is fatty and oily. It’s also slightly salty. The skin was cooked so it was super crispy but impossible to cut and a little hard to chew. The cabbage was okay. The roasted garlic mashed potatoes were good. The onions were probably the best part of this dish to be honest. Red Wine Braised Cheeks of Ox: The meat was super tender and melted in your mouth. You could definitely taste the red wine. The truffle mashed potatoes that accompanied tasted heavily of the truffle; because I like the taste, I enjoyed it. The meat was a little weird though and didn’t taste amazing for me, only good. Kellerbier: This is the first beer on tap. Either I’m getting super used to the taste to beer, or this was really good. I really enjoyed it, and it’s not incredibly expensive. [OVERALL] I feel really bad about giving a 3 star rating, but my experience here just wasn’t great. It was average at best. The service could have been better, and the food wasn’t that great aside from the oysters and beer. The final bill came out to 841SEK, so if you come here for dinner, expect to pay something.

Wow. Just wow. An amazing dinner. We enjoyed the chef’s chalkboard suggestion, which was roasted pig. But it was so much more! Extraordinarily sourced, accompanied with remarkable sides including sweet potato mash, kale with Roquefort, applesauce and gravy. Excellent suggested wine pairing. Great, amicable service even though we had no reservation and sat at the bar. Lovely atmosphere too. Highly recommended!

Are you looking for a tasty lunch deal in Stockholm? Well, this place might have your answer. This place has a 140SEK lunch special, where you could get an appetizer and an entrée. The appetizer and entrée are different depending on the day of the week. Since that day was a Friday, the lunch special consisted of Gazpacho soup as the appetizer and the entrée was either fish and chips or flank steak. I chose the flank steak as my entrée. The gazpacho had a good garlic-like flavour, and served as a great complement to the bread that was provided. As for the flank steak, it also had a great flavour and tenderness. Another dish I sampled was the salad with mozzarella cheese. My friend said he didn’t like the cheese, and after tasting some of the cheese, I thought it tasted a little strange, so that’s one dish that I might not recommend. Atmosphere is cosy and I had some great conversations with my travel companions. Interior felt like I was in a modern and contemporary restaurant situated on an old street. The service was decently good and the staff was fairly helpful. We paid our bill at the bar since some of us were paying separately. Overall, if you are looking for a reasonable lunch deal in a city like Stockholm, this place is a great choice. This place was probably one of the most enjoyable restaurants I have been to in Stockholm and I thought I found a pretty good deal during lunch.

had the most wonderful meal and birthday here. inventive menu, cozy atmosphere, ridiculously good food. presentation was whimsical and dramatic as well: from the bread tower to how the ox cheeks sat on a glassy surface of demiglace… freaking amazing. michelin rated and very close to the tube, this place is very convenient to city centre. lovely wine list and easy to make reservations even when overseas. got a flight into stockholm and had a late dinner here to try and at least have a special something during my bday– timing couldn’t be more perfect, and the service was simply amazing! don’t forget to save room for dessert! you are in sweden, after all. :) DO order: chanterelle toast with lobster cream, roe and cheese, oysters a la rolfs kok(MUSTORDERTHIS! game changer), jamon iberico, fish stew, braised ox cheeks, morello cherry dessert

Yet another native English speaker who spent the first 30 minutes of the dining experience giggling over the name.(My maturity level is at a permanent state of severely arrested development. Apologies.) Once that fracas was over, I enjoyed a truly good meal. Pumpkin ravioli, paired per recommendation with a nice French red wine. The ravioli taste and texture was delicious, and the only minor negatives I could point out are that the bread was a little underwhelming, but ok… simple white rolls that were a little tough, but not… bad.) And, the ravioli dish had raw parsley and…(maybe raw chestnuts?) sprinkled on top of it, which was fine, but since this dish came with a delectable browned butter & sage sauce, and was so rich,(and a nice hot dish) crispy basil and toasted pine nuts might have complimented the dish a little better. But again — it was still very palatable. The atmosphere of the place is lovely, and the beverage list extensive. I’d definitely go back.

The food is a clear 4.5 points. It is really the thing you come to this establishment to enjoy. They have a quite thorough beverage menu with everything from white wine to a cranberry juice. Michelin guide restaurant. The interior is nice and cosy and the restaurant is often fully packed with both regulars and tourists. They have both seats inside and(heated seats) outside. Restrooms are clean but a bit hard to find. Green door on the side of the bar. Let’s get to some of the negative points. Textile napkin were very old, washed too many times and is starting to lose its form and color. Few smiles from personnel. Bread a tad taste less, have had a lot better in Stockholm.

The restaurant is really cute and inviting. The servers were all pleasant and quite friendly. The cold meat plate, as a starter, was a little disappointing. It would’ve been nice with a little cheese. The fish stew was quite nice, although i found the cream on top to be a little much. Overall, a nice dinner!

What a hip place! At lunch time, they were packed with couples and business lunches. We were lucky enough to have snuck in without a reservation, but the wait staff was reluctant about it, so I would definitely recommend making reservations! Even for lunch. Of course we started with the bread tower! The lunch menu is pretty pared down if you get the lunch set menu. I had the fish special and the mister tried the steak dish. We both loved the celeriac soup that came with the set menu. We also agreed that the fish dish was better than the steak, but the steak on its own was pretty good, just not as good as the fish that day! Everything was high quality and had a nice twist to it to make it more than just standard Swedish fare. Overall, the food here was tasty and it was worth the struggle to get a table. It is a bit pricey, but the ambiance and neighborhood make it worth it. Make sure you check out the weird bathroom situation. I’m very comfortable with my partner, but not that comfortable! But if you are, then by all means use the side by side toilets.

My wife and I are very immature when it comes to our sense of humor, so I ended up the butt of many jokes when I suggested we eat at Rolf’s Kök. Needless to say, I was quite pleased when a Swedish friend told me that Kök is pronounced close to the word«shock», instead of the humorous but vulgar«cock». Rolf’s Kök serves traditional Swedish food, with a clean, modern presentation. For our first visit, we ordered the Oysters a la Rolfs Kök, the brawn of reindeer, a stuffed eggplant and a fish and potatoes dish — I can’t remember what it was called. The oysters is basically their take on Oysters Rockerfeller, in fact I believe our waiter called them Oysters Rockerfeller when we ordered them. I had no idea what a «brawn» was, but apparently its bits and pieces of reindeer scraps turned into a tournedo or head cheese, then pan fried. Both the oysters and reindeer were deee-licious! I had anticipated the fish to be a fillet of some sort because in English, it was described as «medallions». What came to the table was actually more like fish meatballs, grinded up and formed into three giant fishballs. It wasn’t bad, but it was a let down because I had pictured something else in my head. The piped potatoes were fantastic though. They were so good that we ate their a second night in a row. We had the oysters again, and also had their potato pancake. It’s basically a plate sized hashbrown, pan fried crisp and covered with a dollop of crème fraîche and whitefish roe. Both dishes were superb. We ended our meal with the flambed English pudding. It’s a pretty expensive dessert, I think 245SEK or about $ 30US. It was super tasty, but I would never pay $ 30 for a dessert at home. We thoroughly enjoyed both visits. Meals and drinks for three came to about $ 150 or 1200SEK on each night. Service and cocktails were top notch. Yes, I loved eating Rolf’s Kök.

Amazing food! Great prices for the reputation that this place has(Michelin Guide). Being a Michelin guide restaurant means great prices for great food. We were so lucky to get a bar seating when we arrived without resos… or we probably would have to wait for like an hourish. Food choices: –Beer: decent prices –Ox cheek in red wine, braised with potato purée: the ox just melts in your mouth, you don’t get many Ox dishes in America, but in Stockholm there’s plenty and Rolfs Kok makes it just right. The potato purée was probably the best potato purée I have ever tasted, it was so soft, creamy and flavorful! –Pork confit: the skin on the pork was so crispy and delicious! The pork wasn’t dry and had sooo much flavor –Steak with potato gratin: steak was great, great seasoning and the potato gratin was delicious One of the best food we had in Stockholm! We are a big fan of Scandinavian food!
