I’ve been here on two occasions, for lunch and dinner, and there are a few things that keep it from being better than what it is. Overall, it’s got a good location, decent variety of food, but so-so service. First time, dinner in March: an order of three pizzas took upwards of an hour and a half(!) and it was in the middle of the week and not particularly busy. It was difficult to even make contact with our server, and when we were finally served we were told they had just received a massive online order. Right. So, service for online orders at the expense of restaurant guests. Lunch, yesterday: really nice to be able to sit outside with a few daily special options of pizzas, pastas, and salads. Orders are placed at the counter and there is a buffet with pizza salad, bread, and water. I had ordered a vegetarian pasta and after a while one of the servers came and announced it was actually unavailable and just hadn’t been communication to the person taking orders. There weren’t any other vegetarian pastas on the lunch menu, but I was offered a vegetarian carbonara with mushrooms. And what I got was a very basic rigatoni with tomato sauce and some mixed vegetables, swimming in oil. Womp.

Premium located venue offering a nice lounge outside overlooking the sea. This is a crowded lunch place when the time and weather is right. Pasta and Pizza is on the menu, and they do it well. I can recommend both lunch and dinner, but the later option will leave the big crowd behind. Service is great and classy without being stuck up. You should probably try one of their pastas if you dont have a very good reason for not. Italian cravers will probably love it, but low carbohydrate diets will only have a few options. Im amazed how they manage to keep the similarity over the restaurants, and thats probably one of their greatest advantages… The customer know what to expect, and expect what they know!

I have one memory of Primo Ciao Ciao, it was when it was newly opened and only located at Odenplan. Now(to my surprise) I found that they have plenty of more locations to choose from, and we wanted to find one that would easily have kids seat. Well, we ended up leaving the kid with the grandparents and headed for Primo at liljeholmen. We made reservations because we thought it would be crowded, but as we came there and as we left it was almost empty. But I still suggest making reservation because«you just never know». Being pregnant, I of course wanted everything that I couldn’t eat. With that goes soft cheeses, prescuitto(is that how it is spelled???) … so I had to pick what I could eat. Which ended up being a pizza(mmmm piiizzaaa) with pine nuts and chicken and something more. The food at primo ciao ciao has always been good, especially the pizza … now, pizza in Sweden is ALWAYS going to be my favorite pizza(JJ’s in Hawaii is however almost up there with them) so I will never complain when I eat pizza in sweden. The others in my company had seared tuna(another thing I crave and want and NEEEEED but can’t have *sad face*), and some seafood pasta and pizza(yes, they took the same ingredient dish but one was pasta and one was pizza). It never really got crowded which I enjoyed because crowded places can easily get loud, but this was perfect. I could talk, and talk, and talk … while the others ate and I had half a pizza left by the time they finished. Oh well, I enjoyed being baby free! So, if you ever go to Sweden, DO try Primo Ciao Ciao, I say any location but look it up at Unilocal, some have better reviews than others so I’d go for the one that has good reviews. If you are in the city you have a choice of I think three locations easily accessibly by the subway system so no complaints there.

This outlet of popular ‘Italian’ pizza and pasta chain Ciao Ciao is a disappointing experience. The food is of the same quality is in the other locations so that is rather fine but the service is a disaster. Confusion is the norm, expect many things to be unavailable(they were out of several of the beer brands a few weeks ago), long waits for a table and for food. I(now) only use it for take-out and then it is an above average place but on the other hand they charge more than your average pizza place as well.
