This is the closest thing I have found in Stockholm to the classic barbershop experience to which I had grown accustomed in The States. The price seems steep to me but appears to be in line with the rest of the city. The quality of the cut and of your time spent there are worth every penny. She is always able to schedule me even on short notice and doesn’t close at 16:00 like every other business in this country does.

Ostermalm ‘s Herrfrisering (AKA ‘Monica’s), is — in my humble opinion — the best barbershop in Stockholm. Unassuming, unpretentious, and Monica knows how to cut hair really, really well. No, nobody will ask you if you’d like a Chai, or what flavor Nespresso you would like. No, its not an all-white neo-design interior with harsh accent lighting. No, you won’t be made to feel like a favor is being done for you for SEK800 (it’s only — gasp! — SEK300), as you are sneered at for not being… something enough. But you will be warmly welcomed by a very friendly Monica, and get exactly what you ask for. Perfectly. Every time. And, as a bonus, you won’t be looked down upon for not sporting the ubiquitous Swedish Man Beard…
It’s great. Go.
