Mocco

Nice cozy place to hang out and have a snack. The coffee is decent (which is pretty good for Stockholm); the snacks are pretty yummy. Haven’t tried the salads or sandwiches. 3.5 stars.

Probably more popular years ago when it was newly opened. Haven’t been to Stockholm for at least 5 years and popped by … Had two cappuccinos and a sandwich, «Sund och God», a vegetarian sandwich, really good! Nice service with a very positive attitude. And lots of space, easy to get a table!

Avoid.
First, the food: dreadful. Caesar Salad consisted of lettuce chopped so long ago that all the edges were brown, «croutons» (actually slices of baguette) that were stale, globs of dressing in the bottom (patrons must obviously dress their own salads), cherry tomatoes as hard as bullets, with as much flavor, and slices of chicken that clearly came from a packet (& tasted like it). All this for $ 20. Seriously. Snygging had the «American Pancakes», which to me — as an American — were a fucking joke: three tiny pancakes with the consistency of pita bread, with a glob of almond ice cream on top (WTF?!), surrounded by blueberries and raspberries (Yay America!). Another $ 20. I also had the fresh oranges, which was so sour I’ll probably have heartburn until Tuesday. And to think that the oranges at ICA around the corner are so deliciously sweet… FML.
Anyway, then there’s the actual restaurant: several tables empty with «reserved signs», that remain mysteriously empty, while patrons look around desperately trying to figure out where to sit. And blaring house music. Seriously, is that necessary at Sunday Brunch when we’re all hungover, and just want carbs and mellow? Apparently so. And as hard as the waitresses tried to tidy up, it was just… pretty filthy.
Finally, the toilets (because you may need them): I honestly thought thta some epic, mortal, and final combat pitting good and evil took place here, where evil won.
On a positive note, the waitstaff were very sweet and friendly.
Go to Kommendoren around the corner, or Nybrogatan 38, or even 7-​Eleven.

I heard that they had great salads here so I popped in for lunch. The salad I had (Mocco Nyttig/​Healthy) was fine but I thought the size if the salad was very small. Service was ok, but a little on the pricy side for what I got. It was fun to try, but probably won’t be coming back for more.
