Hotel prices in Scandinavia are pricey. You can find a few for about $ 150 a night. But we felt Maude’s Hotel with high guest ratings was worth $ 195 a night because unlike many Stockholm hotels parking was free, and that was worth $ 30 or more a night most other places. It is a small family like hotel south of downtown Stockholm in a residential quiet district called Enskede, but it is just across the street from the Svedmyra station of the plush T-bahn train system. We purchased a 3 day pass right there for $ 24(over 65 or under 18 price) including the reusable plastic card, and were able to ride any underground, or bus we wanted and could really go everyplace in Stockholm. Again driving and parking a car in a city like Stockholm is not viable. The public transport is clean, comfortable, and frequent. So enjoy a clean room, comfortable beds, a great breakfast, walk to the T-bahn station, and all Stockholm is yours. We loved the old town, Gamla Stan with walking tour, the harbor tour, the Vasa museum, the Royal Symphony, and our comfortable little hotel at the end of each busy day. You will too. There is free Wi-Fi but it is not easy to use and you have to get a new password each day which is a bother. Other than that it was perfect for our needs. Staff was friendly and helpful. Non-smoking inside hotel.
