This kitchen has my full trust to deliver superb food time after time and do magical things. We had a larger party, and therefore could be provided with a number of small dishes for each course that the table was to share, I cannot exaggerate how much this enhanced my experience of the restaurant(having ordered a la carte on a prior visit). Do not be discouraged as a vegetarian if you see nothing on the menu; as I said previously, these chefs, magic. The starter was a sublime mix of beetroot black truffle caramelised nuts and warm cheese, along with delicate crisp morsels of Parmesan tart that were devoured faster than I could take a photo of them. The next course, gnocchi with green leaf vegetables, absolutely melted in the mouth, with lashings of butter over the soft pillowy gnocchi that were cooked to perfection. Another dish served afterwards provided me with the most perfectly made polenta and a mushroom dish that was so intensely flavourful I can’t get my head around it not having some form of meat stock. And dessert… I was already completely satisfied, but the salted chocolate, cream and honeycomb of the dessert just blew me away. Everything is rich, packed with flavour, and cooked with real tenacity and care. Hats off to the chef.

We came here on a Wednesday night around 7 and had no problem getting a table for 2. For starters, we had the Buffalo Mozzarella and the Scampo Fritto. Both were good. For our entrée, we had the Linguine with black truffle and the Tajarin with a rooster liver ragout. The pastas were perfectly al dente and the sauces were very flavorful. The staff were very friendly. We spoke with a retired local at the next table. He told us he’s been coming here for the last 10 years and it’s always good.

Imagine my surprise when I came to La vecchia to get an expected good meal and they gave me a life time of delicious and tasty drops of heaven none the less an all time cozy evening. You can definitely say that they planned your dinner before hand with the candlelight, woody interior and homy rug. Don’t forget to book a table weeks before because, people this place is literally always busy!

We didn’t have a reservation and even though it was early on a Wednesday evening all the tables were booked. So the friendly bartender/server offered us to either sit at the bar or a table of our choosing outside. We picked outside on the sidewalk. The chairs might not have been the most comfortable but my boyfriend and I both got soft, cozy blankets. I ordered the pasta with pancetta, peas and black truffle. It was perfect and light just like pasta should be. My boyfriend ordered the special with was a flank steak which was absolutely fantastic. Our server offered wine pairings which we enjoyed. We had to leave early and unfortunately didn’t have time for dessert. Next time we will take our time. What a gem!
