Going in blind to this booking, I had no idea what to expect. After our stay, HTL Kungsgatan has set the bar high for all other hotels in the area. The value is amazing. It will not burn a hole in your wallet to stay here! The room and lobby was clean and inviting and the location is perfect. It is central enough where if you choose, walking nearly everywhere around Stockholm is easy.

There is one thing keeping HTL Kungsgatan from a five star review: the check-in process. This centrally located boutique hotel has the perfect location for anyone looking to explore Stockholm. The rooms are small but incredibly efficient. There is room for suitcases under the bed and a place to hang your clothes if needed. The bathroom is the same, small but efficient. Everything is spotless. I couldn’t hear anything from the rooms around me. You can definitely tell this is a newly renovated hotel. The check-in process, my only disappointment, was fully automated, such that you use an iPad to check in and activate your keycard. I arrived a little before 2pm and it would allow me to check in but every time I tried to activate my key card, an error would occur. I later found out this was because it was too early to check in, but I wasn’t the only one confused and it was challenging to know who could help since there was no main check in counter. Once the issue was resolved, my stay was incredibly pleasant. The breakfast, which is not included in your stay, was delicious. I will say if you are staying more than a couple nights, there isn’t much variety, so it may or may not be worth it. The lounge is a nice amenity, especially since the rooms are small. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would stay there again myself.

Nice little hotel in the middle of Stockholm. Nice employees and the standard is good. Rooms are small, but that’s to expect in a big town hotel. Room is clean and so is the rest of the hotel. But the breakfast is a minimal. For international travelers don’t expect any hot meals, no eggs not even scrambled, no sausages or anything hot. I will stay here again.

HANDSDOWN — THEBESTVALUEINSTOCKHOLM Finding affordable lodging in Sweden is challenging. HTL offers a great room for an incredible value. The front desk has just one person who will show you how to electronically check yourself in to your room. It’s easy and efficient. The Room — it’s small. And that’s okay. Space has been utilized efficiently. There are knobs and hooks throughout for hanging things. Extra bedding and towel are kept in a drawer under the bed. There are plenty of electrical outlets and USB sockets for charging mobile phones. Our room was incredibly clean. The bathroom was immaculate. We overlooked the street at the front of the hotel. It was a bit noisy during the day, but the evenings were quiet. The Hotel — there is a bar and kitchen just off of the main lobby. Music plays all day. We were on the first floor, but didn’t hear the music in our room. We did not eat the breakfast at the hotel, so I can’t speak to it. There is seating on the patio at the back of the hotel. If you are a smoker, you’ll love it. If not, steer clear. The wifi(WLAN) was super. We love HTL Hotels and will stay in them at every opportunity. Highly recommended.

Trendy hotel boutique that we used for our 24 hour layover in Stockholm. HTC is in a great location. It’s very close to the arlanda express which made it easy for us to have a place to stay in the city that was very convenient to the old town. The rooms on underground floors are a great option for people who don’t need a lot of space and just want a place to sleep. Although the room didn’t have windows, it was very clean and affordable. You can connect your phone to the TV. It’s awesome! Not to mention free wifi. Walking to old town was a nice pleasant stroll. The air is crisp and clean. The city is just beautiful. Right near the hotel is the wonderful bakery, Vete-Katten, to grab great treats like princess cake or sandwiches. The hotel did seem to be popular for breakfast but we didn’t try it.

Love it here. I previously reserved a hotel that I thought I liked and when I found HTL, I cancelled so fast and here’s why. I think HTL, is THE new hotel for the new Age. It’s different, technology convenient, not like any other hotel I’ve stayed in in Europe or the U.S. of A. Sweden, home of Spotify was voted the most technology forward country globally. The HTL Kungsgatan is a product of this techn-centric country. On top of that, nothing like comfy well thought out spaces: Spartan but man, loaded with functionality, if you focus on the innovation everywhere in the room. The main dining room used for breakfast is communal, funky, cafeteria chic. Some say it’s hip but I don’t think so. I think it’s the wave of new hotels responding to a self– reliant traveler(techie or not) who typically does not want to bask in luxury, but who wants to get on with their day… But first give her everything she needs to be functional– an amazing Scandinavian breakfast, comfy linen and bed, techno hookups, a rainshower. Bring a traveler and companions to a communal environment like HTL, one immediately feels a part of the world going through Stockholm, on your way somewhere. What else do you need but a central location? You get all that HERE. In the end HTL may have started a new concept, much needed in hospitality services the world over. The other bonus? It’s 2 medium blocks from the Stockholm Central Terminal or the Hotorget stop on the T bana(The subway). Another bonus? It’s cheap for Scandinavia and breakfast which you can add on is super deelish and moderately priced. Because of the savings here, I can truly have fun dining in Stockholm. Stockholm has some restos which are memorably delicious. Yet another bonus? I love that I can use my iPhone to open the door to my room. Again loaded with innovation packaged in utter simplicity… like an iPhone(I know cornfields…) And another bonus? It’s walking distance to Gamla Stan: Old Town But wait, another bonus is it’s blocks from everrrrrything, even the Nobelmuseet. Still, another bonus? Super helpful staff. This lady asked for an apple during breakfast and an hotel employee washed it in front of her and dried it with a napkin. A final bonus? We can walk to almost all dining establishments to enjoy in Stockholm. Kudos and Bra Dag, HTL. Visit: 1(stay of 5 nights) Tip: Unless you«need» a driver from the airport to your hotel, be green; you’re in Europe, use the public transport system like everyone else. The shuttle buses are 99 Swedish Krona and the train is SKr 280 one way from ARN(airport) to the Stockholm Central Terminal. You can buy tix online or right before you leave ARN.

What a great hotel! This really made our stay in Stockholm. I’ll admit that my traveling companion and I(who opted for separate rooms) were a little shocked when we entered our rooms and saw how compact they were, but within hours we figured out that they were designed so well(bless those Scandinavians) that they were actually more functional than the rooms we’d had three times the size in London. There is no closet nor any table/desk, but there’s a multiplicity of hooks and a hanging bar over the bed that made it all work. The bathroom was small but well-designed and all in all it reminded me of a little ship’s cabin. The location was a great jumping-off point for our first visit to Stockholm and we fell INLOVE with the staff there, including the effervescent ‘Simon The Diamond.’ One of our favorite moments was when we asked if we could purchase bottled water at the snack bar near the reception desk and the charming woman told us ‘We have the best water in the world, so you won’t need it!’ and she was right! Swedish tap water tastes like fairy tears! The food in the hotel was great — my favorite meal in Sweden, after my birthday dinner at Rolf’s Kok, was the grilled halloumi with raw vegetables and the seafood stew from the kitchen at HTL. PHENOMENAL. The breakfast that comes with your room was delightful, with a plethora of juice, fruit, meats, breads, coffees, teas, cereals, etc. A big bonus: a luggage locker so we could store our bags while we continued to explore Stockholm in the hours before our plane left. All in all, a perfect hotel — well-priced, well-located, and well-staffed. We’re planning on going back next year and will be booking rooms at HTL again!

This hotel is nearly perfect in every way. The location is good and close to almost everything in Stockholm. The design and architecture of this hotel is simply stunning. The public spaces are created beautifully and very smart — public spaces that invites people to sit, relax and enjoy the urban feeling the hotel has. The rooms are on the smaller side however they are created very smart making your stay really enjoyable. The toiletries are decent, while the towels are really great. The next morning you can option for a really lovely breakfast. Do not expect a large breakfast buffet with various items — but HTL creates an(as I would say) even better breakfast. Its simple, but very freshly made. Juices, smoothies, sandwiches, yoghurt with granola, croissants etc. Dear HTL, do not ever change this breakfast. This hotel is really recommendable. It talks to your Instagram-heart: From the beautiful lobby to the pretty and colorful breakfast. The staff is so laid-back and friendly, but still very professional. The prices are amazingly low, while the quality is extremely high in comparison. I can not wait for HTL to open up a hotel in my capital, Copenhagen — which is the plan. It would make it so easier for me to enjoy this as often as possible.

I came here for the lunch buffet a late afternoon. The place is pretty classy and i like the décor which gav a nice touch and loungy feeling. The buffé contains of different salads and two kinds of mains every day so it will suit most ppl. Food was well prepared, tasted great and the staff was friendly and attentive. A lot of the seats are laidback couches or arm chairs instead of real tables which isnt the perfect way of eating. But there are reg. tables and chairs as well and overall there are plenty of seating so you wont have trouble finding a spot. Except for lunch I can imagine having an afterwork here. And I will definitely be back for some more high quality food within a short timeframe.

HTL Kungsgatan is an extremely well located older hotel in Stockholm’s Norrmalm District. If location is the most important item on your hotel checklist look no further because from the moment you exit the Arlanda Express Train from the airport(believe me this is the way to get into central Stockholm) you will be in the hotel lobby in about seven minutes. The hotel is also close to great shopping, the old town district, and Sergels Square. It is also a short walk away from the Stockholm Royal Opera house(beautiful at night), Saint Joseph’s Church, Helgeandsholmen Island, The Parliament Building and the Royal Palace. The hotel is really nice. It is really an upbeat, hip vibrant property and you will notice this the moment you enter. I loved the use of the color throughout the hotel. The lobby staff was pleasant and helpful. The rooms are small but the architect did an excellent job using the space provided. We had a windowless room because we chose economy over luxury but I am not at all convinced that the views are worth paying extra for. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom can easily be described as «really cute,» and the towels were decent enough. The hotel is just a real hip upbeat place and the location makes this a great place to stay. The lobby has a cool bar and wine«cellar.» The restaurant and restaurant staff were excellent and the breakfast was terrific. Breakfast included a wide variety of meats, jellies, eggs, hard-boiled eggs, tea, coffee, cereal, cheese, cucumbers, olives, meatballs, sausage, bacon, beans and fruit. Eating in Stockholm is expensive and the breakfast will clearly get you to lunch. The eating area and the lobby are simply fabulous. The artwork was vibrant and diverse, the eating area was huge and the background music would make even the stiffest of people wiggle at least a little. A lot of folks looking at this hotel are probably trying to determine whether to stay here or at Frey’s around the corner. If the prices are similar I would give the HTL Kungsgatan Hotel the proverbial nod and I would definitely pay for the breakfast. Suggestions: 1. Have a drink at the Hilton Bar, trust me; 2. Have a drink at Tiffany’s(beer not hard stuff) in the Södermalm District; 3. Visit Gamla Stan(Old Town); 4. Consider visiting during Christmas time because the city is beautiful at night this time of year; 5. Definitely book your passage on the Arlanda Express from the airport in advance; 6. If you cannot reserve a room at HTL consider Freys, an older property around the corner; 7. Walk along Malmskillnadstrappan Street; 8. Have lunch at Vapiano at number 12 Sturegatan because it is a beautiful restaurant; 9. Coop Supermarket for; 10. Bring a small portable ice bucket; 11. Make sure you go to breakfast very early; 12. Shop at «Mood Stockholm;» 13. Skargards Porten; 14. Kungliga Dramatiska Teatern 15. MIVA Art Gallery; 16. Sture Gallerian; 17. Zara at Sture Gallerian; 18. Humlegarden Park; and 19. Pro: Hotel is modern and staff is great. My room had no widows but I knew that going into it. There are rooms with windows. Great location. Complimentary breakfast was banging. Con: The beds are hard. Basically a box spring with a pillow top. After three nights I needed a Swedish massage :).

The hotel rooms are really tiny, they basically fit a 1,40 cm bed and the smallest bathroom you ever seen. It irritates me that the water from the shower keep poring in to the bathroom floor meaning your feet will get wet every time you need to pee… There is no place to put your bag if you have one that’s 20 inches or more. If you are going to stay here i would recommend that you don’t spend much time in the room. The hotel have not been open that long so everything is fresh and they have huge lounge areas that you can spend time. There is a restaurant/bar in the hotel(closed Sundays though). The breakfast is ok, you get to choose 4 items, coffee and juice are counting as items witch is a bit cheap of them… :/ If there is a option I would not choose to stay here but the prices are suppose to be fair due to the sizes of the rooms. I paid 1400SEK/night though and I don’t think that was worth it. GREAT location though! That’s a plus!

The new HTL Hotels at Kungsgatan 53 in Stockholm is great! The lounge is cozy and they offer CAVA for a great prize. The location of the hotel is perfect — close to shopping, clubs, restaurants, bars etc. The rooms are small with only what’s necessary — comfortable bed and clean bathrooms. Highly recommended!
