This place deserves an honest, truthful review and if no one is going to do it, I will. I came here with the expectation that this place truly lived up to its rating on Unilocal(which, at the time of writing, was 4.5 stars). I’ll be blunt, this place sucks. I tried the dumplings, which are home made and made northern China style(open at the ends), with meat and leek along with a plate of beef noodles. The dumpling sizes were inconsistent and super salty. The beef that came with the noodles that seemed days old. It was dry and almost black in color. There’s no telling how many times it had been refried. I’d truly avoid this place if you’re looking for dumplings or any kind of Chinese food and look elsewhere.

Omg, these dumplings are to kill for! Definitely lived up to the hype. Damn, I want more, but I’m so full I can’t barely sit down.

Great dumplings home made by the friendliest restaurant owners in Stockholm. I always leave with a smile on my face.

Like a potsticker-dumpling mashup, you could call them«potsticklings, doesn’t really matter as long as you sample a variety of them. They were served up quick and hot. We tried all seven types and found the vegetarian fare were the best of the lot. Add the peanuts and chill oil to some soy sauce, it’s a good combination. The owner gets up early every day and makes these by hand, and although we ate late in the evening her spirits were high and full of energy. She was very engaging, fun to talk with, and you could tell this is a labor of love. My wife and I shared stories with her, learned new things, and laughed often. Although this isn’t the potsticker place located under the train tracks in Ueno Japan(the best potstickers in the world) this is the best potsticklings I’ve ever had, and with the added bonus of relaxed dining experience and lovely owner gives the rating a boost to 5 stars.

Delicious dumplings, fast service! I didn’t order anything else, but it smelled delicious in there. You can also order a mix of all of their dumpling varieties, which is cool. One of the best meals I had in Stockholm, and one of the cheapest, too!

Yummy food with large portions. And of course the owner is delightful, if not a little overly enthusiastic at times, depending on one’s mood. I come here when I need a little emotional warmth with my meal. The cheery welcome you receive at the door is just the beginning. The ladies here are just precious; you’ll hear them singing, joking, laughing, and the food feels home-made. They are not the best dumplings ever, but they are interesting and tasty and the price is right. They are sort of imperfect and falling apart and sticky. Sort of like this place, in a good way. My only gripe is that you have to pay extra for tea. Perhaps I’m just spoiled by the usual free tea at most Asian restaurants, but I did miss it here. And some background music would do wonders.

As a Chinese-American exchange student in Stockholm, my craving for some cheap and tasty dumplings was really starting to grow after a few months. Enter Fang Yuan Shi Wu. Upon entering the restaurant, the two ladies at the counter welcomed my friend and me immediately. The décor was not superficial at all and reminded me of the restaurants I usually go to back at home. We ordered 17 dumplings each for around 65kr. You could mix and match between 5 – 6 types to your liking. I ordered the ones with spinach and glass noodles, chicken and corn, and a regular pork one– I would recommend the chicken with corn, it has some crunch to it. You could tell they were homemade by how fresh it tasted, although I wish they closed the wrappers all the way because some of the filling was leaking out from the cooking process. They were fried on one side and a little bit too soft for my liking on the other(I think they overcooked it a bit). Definitely dip them in soy sauce with vinegar and a little bit of hot sauce(yum!). Even though I wouldn’t say they were amazing or the best that I’ve ever had, they were still pretty damn good especially for the price, atmosphere, and portions. I would give 3.5 stars if I could but wouldn’t say it’s quite 4 because you could get better. There’s also giant tubs of peanuts soaked in some sort of spicy marinade on each of the tables that are nice to munch on before your food comes or as a side garnish to your dumplings. I wish I had the chance to try out some of their fried noodles too because the portions looked HUGE from what the couple was eating at the tables near me.

The owner is welcoming, warm, and lovely, and the food is also great. Both are charming and unassuming. We had the mix of dumplings for dinner, which was delicious and filling. We haven’t tried the other dishes but will certainly go back for more. Great place, great food, and great value.

A pleasant and cheap eat(for this part of town), Fang Yuan Shi Wu specializes in hand-made dumplings. Down-to-earth and ascetic, the lunch spot is inviting — the owner herself takes your order. I really can’t decide whether I find the dumplings here completely enjoyable. Normally the spinach kind is a personal favorite. Here, while the glass noodles-and-spinach dumplings are delicious, and arrive in a huge portion, the dough which encloses the leafy goodness gets old pretty fast. It seems to have an odd texture for my tastes, but the dumplings still are both tasty and filling. I will definitely come back another time and see how it works out.

This is by far the best and most affordable dumpling place in Stockholm, probably Sweden. Not only are the owner sweet as pie, they love to make their customers happy. My boyfriend and I have traveled asian and have a pretty high standard when it comes to dumplings. This place meets it. Yummmy! Don’t miss this spot.

This is one of my favorite spots in Stockholm. The owner is very friendly. The pot stickers are hand made, and the place is kind of bohemic. Think mismatched chairs and tables, lots of different styles of plates and glasses. It’s not a place where you bring your posh date or your fancy client for lunch, but if your company is laid back this is a great spot. The portions are huge, there are many different flavors to choose from. This place has moved around a lot. I’ve been at two of their other locations and I’m very happy to have found them again.
