Ett Hem… I wish it was my home, or at least, I could live with just the very pretty and cozy double room — number 4. The room I stayed in for one night. This night was a dream come true. A night at Ett Hem has been on my wishlist for ever since it started out. I was greeted by a lovely woman at the main entrance. The room was not ready yet, so I decided to see the beautiful city of Stockholm, which I have been to multiple times before. This trip, however, was different. The whole trip was based and booked because of Ett Hem. Upon advance, I did request for this room no #4. I have seen it on photos, and this is my favorite. I really cannot describe the room. It was pretty and just breathtakingly beautiful in all it’s details. Oscar & Clothilde wool plaid, Côte Bastide slippers, Marvis toothpaste, Kiehl’s toiletries. Do I need to say more? To sit and look at the local area from my window, with the cold temperature outside, the cozy plaid around me and a candlelight. Seriously, in how many hotels can you lit a candelight? The public areas were simply breathtaking too. Design pieces everywhere, lights, coziness — everything was beyond amazing. I have to mention all those books that you can just pick, take to your room, read, return. The fitness room is a must try too — how about some cross country skiing? Then walk across the hallway to the relaxing spa with a hot stone, sauna and different baths. The food is just as good as the rest. At dinner, some of the spaces were occupied by people and parties from the outside — maybe the only negative thing about this place. I sat in the lovely kitchen though, which was very great — and cool to see all those chiefs working. I optioned for the 3-course meal. The starter was pleasant with two varieties of tartare — one with char, one with roe — and then braised cabbage with fried kale. The main course was pieces of sirloin steak It was cooked almost rare. Simply perfect. It came with pumpkin, chanterelles and a bordelaise sauce. My dessert was a lemon sorbet with lemon crumbs and raspberries. Light and very fresh. The kitchen really have huge talent and knowledge about food, and they sure know how to make the most honest, fresh ingredients to something delicious. I love the way that they used autumn ingredients like pumpkin and chanterelles. In total, with a bottle of sparkling water, it set me back 895SEK or around 100 €. Expensive, but worth it though. At least once. The breakfast is so good. Really. Very simple, but the ingredients are of a very high quality. Furthermore, the breakfast is presented pretty and very neatly around the table. We are talking freshly baked bread and pastries from Riddarbageriet, cold cuts, cheeses, yogurt, fruit, granola. It was beyond amazing. Let us be clear and honest: A stay at Ett Hem is expensive, but do yourself a favor and try at least once. A stay here is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Go ahead and book now.

Ett Hem is a perfect little gem. Situated in a peaceful, residential area of Stockholm on Sköldungagatan 2 it was a private residence built in 1910 for two people who loved art and beautiful things. The restoration into a hotel has been perfectly conducted. The 12 rooms and the public spaces are immaculate and the courtyard garden takes your breath away. When you enjoy your breakfast with the other guests at the kitchen or living room you really have the feeling of someone’s home.

A really beautiful and cozy venue for an event. Staff is warm and friendly, food is delicious and atmosphere is casually elegant.
