Caught with a little time on my hands between spots on my itinerary, I decided to chance my arm with a calming pint at Engelen, a bar at the foot of Gamla Stan with external tables that have a fine view across to Sodermalm.
As it was mid afternoon, the place was very quiet, although there was a band setting up for a later performance and it’s clearly a very popular live music venue.
There were lots of decent tunes being played on the PA while I sipped my reasonably priced pint and it was a very comfortable experience, sinking into comfy red armchairs and admiring the wall hangings that offset the dark wooden interior very nicely.
The staff were very friendly and happy to pass on the Wifi password too.
A decent pub that would be well worth returning to when the live music gigs are on.

Houten, The Netherlands
When your energy is low, dive into Engelen and enjoy the live bands that play there in the bar. Always good atmosphere, and classic covers such as U2, Van Halen, Stones, Springsteen etc. The bar is well stocked. After midnight the DJ takes over in the basement, good for dancing until the wee hours in the morning.

The nightclub is one of the cheaper ones for entrance (120?) in Stockholm but if you’re under 37 you’ll be the only one. I remember the music being decent enough, pretty modern. But yeah, it’s for an older crowd. The night we were there the upstairs bar was PACKED. It’s probably a great place if you’re looking for an older crowd.
The outside is decent enough, though I think there are prettier spots to sit outside in Stockholm (it would be better if everything wasn’t under construction in this area). Food was pretty allright. I got the tuna burger. Pretty good sized for about the average Stockholm price. Beer is slightly above average price wise. Staff was friendly. They often have live music — there was a band playing while we were eating outside. They sounded good.
I’ve been here twice — once for food and drink and once for the club. Don’t really plan to ever go back.

When staying in Stockholm, i always take the time time to visit this place. It always has something going on, usually live music. Beers and Drinks are standard Stockholm rates, which is expensive, but to be expected when in Sweden. If you get bored with the show, they have a single black jack table. Good place, recommend a stop.

Sehr schönes Lokal in dem man unbedingt Willes Silltallrik (3 Sorten Hering) probieren sollte. Sehr lecker! Auch die anderen Essen sahen durchaus lecker aus! Gerne wieder!

It’s the 3rd time I’ve been here now and I have to say that their brunch is absolutely okay. They have basically the same food, but offer some variation which is good if you, like me (as a result of knowing a lot of people that bought Let’s Deal-​deals to go there) end up going multiple times under a limited time. Anyway worth a visit if you’re in the neighborhood or are trying out as many brunch-​places as possible.

Hat abslout flair das Ding und die Life Musik am Abend ist gut… Das Bier läuft und preislichist das für Schweden auch noch Bezahlbar… Der Laden gefällt mir alle sehr freundlich und die Köttbüller sind dort auch echt lecker… wird übrigends schöttbüller ausgesprochen, was man ja nicht direkt weiß aber mein Fehler wurdemit einem lächeln berichtigt.
Kann man auch nicht verfehlen, wenn man in Gamla Stan unterwegs ist… ist von der Station Slussen aus schon zu sehen…
