We had a great experience at Corvina! The team there were so attentive and remarkably different service experience than we’ve had in Sweden during our one week trip. First, Matilda recommended wines that were likely less expensive but beautiful. The tuna carpaccio was delicate and yet delightfully flavorful. Then we met Issa. He seemed to have an opinion of the cheeses. He was respectful of our requests but ultimately, based on his facial expressions, I gave up and asked him to choose. I trusted his appreciation for cheese and we were not disappointed! 4 cheeses and 3 meats, we were savoring and smiling the whole time. To end, Nanette, welcomed us after working all the table upstairs. She was candidly funny and paid attention to us yet working the whole time. Really nice to see the customer intimacy. In the end, a fantastic experience, wine selection is great, food is excellent quality, but the PEOPLE made the difference in making this a truly wonderful experience!

What the heck was I thinkin’ going to an Italian joint in Stockholm. It looked so cozy and inviting, had to go right in. Well, the stellar Unilocaleviews validated the urge. This is a small intimate place to hang(the vibe similar to a neighborhood enoteca in Roma) if you’re in Sweden and are craving different cuisine. Hey it’s summer and it felt great to be here. CE doesn’t have the usual Italian staples, most dishes are(tapas) light however. The food I sampled here was very good, the wines enough variety to soothe an oenophile. It’s a romantic kind of place, you walk in and you run and plop yourselves on seat cushions by the window, watch the water, marvel at the old street, and wonder what people were like in Gamla Stan when this restaurant was not here. You begin to fantasize while watching people, savor the beautiful sunny scenery outside, close to sunset, the breeze apparent… your dream is interrupted with your first dish: Tuna carpaccio. The tuna was plump, fresh and delicious, highlighted with a touch of tart, greens for freshness and a very fruity olive oil. Really delish. Simple and Zen. Paired with a Riesling. But wait, here’s YET another place that serves beautifully crusty Swedish bread. The tapenade as an accompaniment to the earthy bread was super scrummy. The Iberico unfortunately was sliced soooo thin, like prosciutto that it was a bit dry. I was craving a good Iberico and it was. I am just used to the Spanish treatment of this delicacy, cut a little thicker and moister. I would get the prosciutto next time. The Pasta Corvina was super nice, loaded with textures: a bold bite to the pasta, the crunch of the greens, the earthy texture of the mushrooms and beef filet, the nuttiness of the parmiggiano, pasta drunk from cream and truffles and Mmmm, mmm mmm, a nice Amarone with it and I was in dreamland– looking forward to a future trip to Italia. The panna cotta however stole the show. Can’t believe I’m writing about dessert again in Sweden. For I haven’t had something so deliciously satisfying in a dessert: silky sexy smooth panna cotta with a touch of Swedish summer raspberries and blueberries, nice, crisp, sweet, tart, ripe. These flavors reminded me that soon the season will be over and today is the time to enjoy them before the season changes… and everything fades to memory. Visits: 1 Tip: Order Italian wines at CE. They pair well with the Mediterranean dishes here. California wines are available if you like cabernets but I find cabs too wine-y tasting and competes with the earthy character of the plates here.

Found this great little tapas bar on our first night in stockholm. The décor is th re best scandinavian chic. Pavement dining limited but the bar opens up into a welcoming dining space which was well lit but intimate. The food choices that we made were all excellent. First prize wrnt tp yhe buffalo mozarella closely followed hy the tuna carpaccio. Wine list is amazing with most by the glass. Only sour note wad the service. Not much of s welcome followed by a pretty cool and off hsnd attitude means we wont be back. Such a pity when great efforts are reflected in all other aspects. No tip for her!

A small wine bar/restaurant in old town. Its a pretty small place, but they have a couple of tables both inside and outside. A lot of the space inside is covered by the bar where they provide you with the golden liquid. This is mainly a wine bar which you can tell by the size of the tables. They are not very big, suitable to grab a glass and have a couple of smaller dishes to share on the side. I skipped the drinking part and concentrated on the food. I wasnt disappointed on their offering but i think the waitress though us being a bit odd going here without having wine. Had their charcuterie plate, the sausage, carpaccio and the duck liver. The duck liver was probably the best, with a great combination of flavors served on a piece of bread. Also, their sourdough bread served on the side is also very good… ask for some olive oil, add some salt… and then. ask for more! If you go for both wine and food, they can probably give you a few suggestions on a «perfect match» depending on which food you pick. But you probably do best having a lighter snack while drinking some wine, and if you suddenly feel like going big, dont be afraid doing so!

Really classy wine spot for those that love a good glass of wine. The place serves over 100 different flavors and bottles of wine so you ll be sure to find something you like. In addition, the bartenders were so informative and patient and allowed me to try roughy 5 wines before I finally settled on a Malbec. My one disappointment which doesn’t necessary have to do with this store is that most of the European wines I’ve tried while traveling are extremely light and lack the boldness of a Cabernet. Most of the drinks were only 20−30% Cabernet mix and the ones that had higher percentages were extremely pricey. The restraint also serves tapas and cold cuts and cheese platters for 240 kr!

I followed the 13 times 5 star review for this place. Now added the 14th5 star. This a really good restaurant. Beautiful tapas and incredable selected wines by the lady of the house. Very good evening out with my collegue on my business trip to Stockholm

Upon looking at the menu, I exclaimed, wow I want to give this place a five from the menu alone. It doesn’t hurt that the restaurant specializes in my two favorite foods, Iberico and risotto. The iberico was fantastic, I only had wished there was more bread. I think I might have prefered a sampler plate because so many of the other meats looked so good, but they said it didn’t come with Iberico, which I really wanted. The risotto was astounding. It included two large artichoke halves, which I had been hankering for all day.(I asked them to leave off the anchovies.) The risotto was more gooey than I would usually find acceptable, but this time it was just right. So absolutely yummy. I might be made fun of for eating Italien and Spanish food in Sweden, but it was absolutely amazing. Good cheesy American current pop music in the restaurant that I occasionally found myself singing to.

This restaurant is a star! Good food and wine, cosy atmosphere and fantastic and skilled staff. Be sure to be in time a hot summer day for a chair outdoor. The risotto and Tiramisu is to die for. Be sure to buy home the fennel salami.

Excellent wines and food. My hubby and I stumbled upon this place on our first day in Stockholm. We fell in love right away. Friendly staff, great wines and suggestions. The food is also excellent. The sommelier Nanette was great! We loved her. She has a great sense of humor, excellent wine suggestions and makes your experience here unique and outstanding. Corvina quickly became a favorite of Stockholm for us. It should be a top 10 of Stockholm rather than some of the other«notable» places I read about before our trip that turned out to be not so fabulous.

We spent a Saturday afternoon here, enjoying a lovely cheese plate with a superb array of cheeses, delicious bread, jam, tapenade, olive oil. The service was very attentive and friendly, we were recommended a french red limited edition wine from Fitou that accompanied the cheese perfectly. A place to return to!
