The food is okay. «Enough», I guess I would say. The atmosphere is cosy and «homie», you feel at times you are in a friends living room. Where this place falls apart is in the physical location. It’s very run down and «shotty». A few of the lamps don’t work, some tables and chairs have clear signs of mold, and most shockingly off all, the bathroom does not always work nor have a working door knob. An okay experience for coffe and tea but I would advise to leave as soon as you can and without touching much.

This place seems to be well loved by tourists! I get that it does have that «cosy old sweater» vibe going on and that it’s in a high traffic area of Gamla Stan, but I wasn’t crazy about it at all. Maybe it’s because i’m not a tourist anymore and actually live here, but I’m pretty sure it’s more than that. There are so many great café’s in Stockholm with excellent food and atmosphere! My first thought is «why would I ever want to come back here?»
This place seems to carry that same brand of purchasable baked goods that most low-​end coffee shops cater in – if they don’t want to make their own food. I’ve gotten so used to spotting the same exact pies, cakes, quiches and cookies all around the Stockholm area that I don’t really want to ever see that reheat-​able (and not homemade) stuff ever again! I could be wrong, but i’m pretty darn sure i’m not. Why waste your time and money on something that isn’t made and served with love all at the same place. On the other hand, why have a café at all if you don’t want to make food? Just sayin’! =P
I also think people think that this place might feel a bit «hipster» because of all the random furniture. Sure, maybe if it was 1995 and they were blasting Nirvana and Garbage out of a boom box. Oh wait… that would make it «alternative,» ha! Well, I’m not a kid anymore and it’s not 1995 (yes, the 90’s are «back» but don’t let that trend take you down this rabbit hole.) It’s just feels a bit dated and dirty to have a ton of random stinky old furniture in a basement like hangout. Maybe i’m being a bit harsh, and your not a foodie, and you just want a coffee/​a piece of pie while on vacation… Then, great! Go ahead. It will suit your needs just fine. Just know that there are a lot better options nearby, minus the dust mites. ;)

I never tire of meeting friends here… It’s big but cozy, with many areas for meetings, small or large. The décor is casual and comfortable, eclectic hipster design. The staff are kind and laid back.
Sometimes they have a good meal menu, besides the usual beverages and pastries. The soup is good. They always offer pancakes. The hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows in a large mug is the best anywhere.

This fantastic café is hidden down in the large cavernous space underground. The vibe is both alternative and sophisticated, cozy and packed with couches and armchairs and great places to read, chat, and enjoy fine espresso. My cappuccino was simply excellent. I highly recommend it and hope I can return soon.

This place has great wifi right by the employee only area. There are blankets to keep you warm since it is underground in a concrete and brick building. The latte was great and so was the choklad coco ball.

This listing should be updated. They definitely have wifi, which would otherwise be a deal-​breaker for me. The cappuccino I ordered wasn’t great, but the food looks very healthy and good. The four stars are really for the environment, which is basically a huge underground study chamber with really comfy chairs. Awesome :)

I really like the organic (ecologisk) kladdkaka (sticky chocolate cake) here and there is a decent selection of good tea. It can be a nice cozy underground (literally) oasis from the touristy atmosphere of Gamla Stan, particularly in the winter, but there is no wifi.
