Borgmästarn Bistro & Bar

Wir sind draußen beim Abendessen gesessen. Der Service war leider nicht sehr gut. Mein zweites Bier kam nie an. Das Essen war geschmacklich leider auch nur Durchschnittlich.

Being located on touristy Stora Nygatan in the old part of Stockholm (Gamla Stan) I wasn’t expecting much, but boy was I really impressed by the food and the service of this restaurant. Come to think of it, I don’t think I had one bad meal in Stockholm.
There’s a bar inside and tables are available on both the inside and outside. There’s good people watching from the outside tables. The inside is a little dark but the candles are a nice touch.
Both my Swedish toast and pan seared herring were excellent. They were nicely presented and tasted great.
Yup, I’d have no qualms in returning again.
By the way there are other restaurants on this street and around this neighborhood, so if this one isn’t you cup of tea, there are others to choose from.

Our group ate here last night having many differences in what we all wanted to eat. Everyone walked away very happy. Very accommodating on explaining ingredients and making some minor changes for food allergies. The meat in all of our dishes from the lamb to the chicken topping the Caesar salad was excellent. Great service and atmosphere.

Nice place in the old town. We stopped in for a glass of wine after a long day of walking. Ended up staying for dinner. We had Swedish Meatballs and Pan-​seared Herring. Both are classic Swedish dishes and both were done nicely.

We were in Gamla Stan looking for somewhere to have dinner and on a hunch we tried this place. We started out with toast skagen which was delicious. We had the beef plank stek with mashed potatoes, asparagus, grilled tomato and bearniessauce was very good. It was cooked exactly as we both had requested. Our son ordered Swedish meatballs and was very content. He was so content that he asked if we could come there the next day and the day after next day for more meatballs.
Our server, Emma did a great job of giving advice and providing great service without being in the way.

Nice location, great service and tasty food. I had the seafood pasta and it was delicious. The price is fair (about 200 kr). I was pretty happy with the choice.

Very good Restaurant. Twice per month here and perfect.
