This unassuming little bistro is well worth a visit. Outdoor seating. Charming simple interior. Great wait staff. And the food was wonderful. We had the steak which was incredible. And the Arctic char was the best I ever had. Worth the trip!

Great atmosphere, and great food. Had the grilled scallops as a starter, and the Iberico for main. The former was what you would expect, but the Iberico was simply amazing. Fresh, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. Love the place, one star lost due to service checking in with too long intervals(waited 15min just to get the check, despite actively waving). First time visit, hoping it was an anomaly.

We were staying at the Hotel Rival and walked around the corner to Bistro Sud. I’m so glad we did. We started off with some bubbles by the glass. 2004 Pol Roger. Probably the best champagne for my palate, it’s a keeper. I’m not sure what to say about the menu, except that if I could have ordered the entire menu, I would have. They specialize in seafood, and indeed it is all delicious. My dining partner and I had the Swedish beef tartare(ok, not seafood, but not to be missed), the hash brown with local fish caviar and all the fixings(really spectacular, simple and rustic while simultaneously being elevated), and the special. The special was the bouillabaisse. If this is available when you are there, order it. The seafood in it was perfectly prepared. And the broth. Incredible, rich, perfectly seasoned. For dessert, we had the sorbet with strawberries, with champagne poured over. What a fun way to enjoy a frozen treat. All in all, Bistro Sud is a neighborhood gem in Sodermalm. Every neighborhood deserves a Bistro Sud. FIve stars.

i thought the food here was delicious! we came here on a friday night late — but the place was not overly packed and we were quickly seated to a nice sofa … instead of ordering main courses we tried four appetizers which i would definitely recommend: the summer salmon salad(warm), the swedish tartare(served with hash browns), the tuna tartare salad(with a spicy kick), and the prosciutto carpaccio. it was the perfect cool summer evening, and all the food complimented with riesling was perfect. this is a nice neighborhood restaurant that is not over the top, but very nice for a low key evening. i was also a big big fan of the dark bread with salted butter. YAY
