This is a small restaurant in the Radisson hotel. At the reception in front of the restaurant we were welcomed and seated at our table. As always in this type of fine dining resturants the waiter started with a small greetings from The chef first. Thereafter we were served four different type of butter, chili, lemon, seeweed and plain butter. To the butter we could choose from 6 different kind of bread, my favorite was the parmesan and the plain chiabata. We started our dinner with the langoustine, it was fresh and tasty! Our second dish was scottish salmon and tabouleh. The salmon had a amazing texture and the combination of ginger and Malibu gelé was a pleasant suprise. The third dish was the slow cooked octopus, to me this was the least impressive dish(still good though). My absolute favorite dish that nearly made me cry of happiness was the pigeon with cacao beans. The meat was tender, the cacao sauce rich and alltogether the dish was beautifully syncronised. I sat there eating and sipping on my amarone wine forgetting everyting in my surronding… Due to the effect this dish might have on you do not order it if your company demands all of your attention. All I could say during this meal was«aha ok» and«oh my good this is so good»… Four courses into the dinner both me and my boyfriend cursed our rookie misstake, we had eaten to much bread and we just could not eat more than one final dish so we started to sharp our spoons for the dessert… I went for the hot and cold vahlrona chocolate and he for the coffe créme brulée paired with a delicious sherry. Not entierly unecpected both of the dishes was amazing and left us promising to exercise 5 days a week just to be able to countining eating… So to summarize: The waiters and sommelier was attentiv, charming and professional. This was a great dining experience and in almost all of the dishes the chef worked with different textures, unecpected combinations and different temperatures. This is one of two restaurants in prauge awarded with one Michelin star(however for march 2016 it was unsertain wether they would keep it or not…) Michelin star or not we were served some of the best dishes we ever eaten here. Do not miss this gem when in prauge! Oh sorry I forgot, of course they will give you some sweets to the coffe and a small«thank you for eating our delicious food» box as a good bye and welcome back gift.

My friend and I had dinner at the Alcron on a Monday night. Given that we were the first two guests for a good hour or two, it was awkwardly quiet. However the night turned around quickly as our meals came out. We had 3 courses each on top of complimentary amuse bouche, bread and dessert(we couldn’t resist macaroons, homemade ice cream and chocolates). Try the parmesan balls from their bread selection — they melt in your mouth! Great service, great value(all of the above including glasses of prosecco and wine) for about A$ 170. I can’t sing enough praises — thank you for a great night.

I came here for an early birthday dinner with a friend this weekend and was overall very impressed with my first Michelin dining experience. The Alcron is located in the Radisson Blu hotel and is actually quite small, with only 24 seats. My friend and I waited outside for a little bit since we were about 5 minutes early for our 5:30 reservation. After we were seated, we were served water and Prosecco by our lovely waiter.(Service all night was exactly what you’d expect from a Michelin-starred place) Amuse bouches were also delightful(one was a honey crisp with foie gras cream, paired with baked apple with a horseradish topping and the other was fried yuzu with a spinach mayonnaise, I think) and super flavorful. My friend and I tried: Milk fed veal tartar with marinated fennel and coriander emulsion — tartar was very flavorful and I thought it was a nice start to the meal, but not one of my favorites. Flavors were definitely interesting. Potato gnocchi with chives emulsion and fresh white truffle — VERY decadent with a nice truffle taste, gnocchi cooked perfectly, definitely showcases the main ingredient well and the butter sauce was delicious as well. I couldn’t eat more than a few bites of this though at a time though. Lobser bisque with sweet corn and poached egg yolk — I loved the idea of popped sweet corn(yay popcorn!) but not so much the execution — it quickly got soggy and I don’t think there’s any context in which soggy popcorn tastes good, even if it’s in a delightful lobster bisque. The ingredients in this one just seemed a little out of place and lost — but the flavor of the bisque itself was impeccable. Poached smoky line caught sea bass with parsley porridge and quail egg — probably my least favorite dish of the night. I wanted more deconstruction in this dish but there wasn’t really any way to eat it besides mixing it all together. The parsley taste was very strong and I loved the crispy wrapping around the perfectly cooked quail egg, and the fish was definitely smoky and cooked properly. Slowly cooked octopus with chorizo emulsion, black olives tapenade ad crispy capers — a surprisingly good pick! I thought this dish had a lot of flavor complexity I wasn’t expecting, but it definitely wasn’t overly salty. If you’re an octopus fan, I’d highly recommend trying this one. If you’re not, this dish might convert you. Pan fried duck foie gras escalope with caper-raisin purée and pear — my favorite dish from the night! I didn’t understand the fuss over foie gras until I tried a bite of this. The foie gras was so rich and creamy and melted on my tongue, while the pear cut it with the sweetness. Absolutely no complaints about this dish. US-prime beef filet and shoulder with miso glaze and jasmine tea smoked potato purée — another hit! I really liked the jasmine tea — it really brought out the flavors in the meat and the miso glaze. Pigeon with sour cherries and cocoa beans — SUCH an interesting dish. I really liked how the flavor of the pigeon was preserved without too many extra ingredients, but the chocolate and the cherries really added a nice pop. I was so intrigued by this one! Definitely left stuffed because all the food was so rich. I’d also recommend asking your waiter for wine recommendations with the courses you’re particularly excited about. If you’re looking for a #treatyoself kind of night with flavors, I don’t think you’d be disappointed by The Alcron!

This was the best culinary experience of my life! My husband and I came to The Acron at the end of a 2 week European trip to celebrate our anniversary. We opted for the wine pairing. The service by the host, waitress, and sommelier was just perfect. The chef even came out to greet us at the end. We were so entertained by the presentation, the additional snacks, and the taste of everything. Wish we lived closer! We can’t stop talking about it!!!

We arrived early and waited inside the Radisson Hotel for our 5:30pm Alcron reservation. Alcron, a one Michelin star, only seats about 30. We were the first people to be seated. Most of the restaurant was quite empty since only a few people had early reservations, which meant most of the attention was on us. Since we had a 7pm show to catch, the courses were brought out quicker than normal. We each picked four different entrees, so we tried eight different dishes! Ceviche of Scottish diver scallops — light in flavor. Fresh. Marinated Scottish salmon — delicious. So much flavor. Rum jellies were a bit odd, tasted like chewy alchohol. Lobster bisque — so good. creamy Olive oil poached halibut — cauliflower purée was excellent. Went well with the halibut and didn’t overpower it. Halibut was light on flavor and flakey. Poached smoky line caught sea bass — parsley porridge tasted odd with the seabass. Could barely taste the fish. Pan-fried foie gras escalope — tasted very fatty and soft. Not as much of a creamy taste as I expected. US-prime beef fillet and shoulder — tasted decent. Loin and shank of lamb — shank of lamb had so much flavor. Loin was tough. We finished dinner at 6:53pm and ran to the State Opera House, barely making it to our show on time.

A wonderful experience from start to finish. I booked my husband and I a four course dinner reservation. The restaurant has one waiter per table so you are waited on hand and foot. The dinner starts with bread and an assortment of flavored butters. From there you are offered the menu to choose your courses. The set menu price choices are 3,4, or 5 courses. We decided on the four courses and I have never been so full! While the food portions are minute you somehow fill up because it is so rich. We decided on the wine pairings but if i were to go again, i would have just ordered a glass. It really wasn’t work the added cost. I also would not have ordered desert as one of my courses because after the courses were finished they brought out an assortment of chocolates and ice cream that was not listed in the menu details. Definitely an experience to remember.

One of the best restaurants in the world, well worth its Michelin star. Best service we’ve had in any restaurant. Staff very personable, professional, explained each dish in detail. It was like being served at a cooking school. We ordered the 4 course tasting menu with wine pairing. First thing that impressed me was the waiter talked us out of a much more expensive bottle of wine to try toe pairing. Wine selections were amazing. Each dish prepared perfectly. We received an amuse bouche between each course including two after dessert. There are no bad choices here. We were treated like very special guests and fed accordingly.

I had initially planned to visit The Alcon for dinner but in the mess of planning my travel for my 18 day European extravaganza I forgot to make a dinner reservation. Upon checking in to the hotel(The Alcon is one of a trio of restaurants within the Radisson Blue Alcon) I visited the maitre’d stand to inquire about availability and was informed that I could come in the following day for lunch anytime. The next day I headed down exactly at noon and was fortunate to be the first one seated. I pursued the menu, ordered my tap water(I drink gallons a day so I always go with tap water) and quickly chose my courses. I selected the Foie Gras to begin, followed by the house special of the day — Sea Bream, their renowned Venison, and finally the lemongrass panna cotta to finish it off. After the Sea Bream I decided to add a course, and max out on my courses getting a fifth course(the maximum on the menu for Lunch, you can have up to seven for dinner) of beef and oxtail. Prior to my ordered first course I was presented with a selection of bread as well as four different types of butter, my favorite which was the paprika and chili butter. I was also served a canapé of smoked veal tartar which was light and delicious and beautifully presented in a bowl that looked like it had ice spokes within it. After the canapé I was presented with some more bread, and then the Foie Gras, which as I understand is their most popular single menu item. It was presented on one of the most interested plates I’ve ever seen. The plate had ridges to allow for a river of something, followed by a significant indent in which the foie gras was placed. The presentation was magnificent and the overall taste, when combining the flavors was also great. I’ve never been a fan of Foie Gras but had selected it on the recommendation of the waiter and I was not disappointed. The peanut butter biscuit and small berries brought out beautiful notes in the Foie Gras. This was followed by a little bit more bread and then the sea bream. It was not listed on the menu but it was served beautifully and had a beautiful fishy flavor. It wasn’t overpowering with fish but considering it was served in a landlocked country it was extremely fresh. The presentation was, beautiful and the taste great. This was followed by the venison. I’m not normally one to eat Bambi, but this was stupdenous. The best single course I’ve had at any restaurant anywhere in the world. Even better than o-toro at Sushi Dai. It was just that mind blowing. The meat was extremely tender and the juices, which were poured on at the table, brought out just the right flavors. I only wish I’d ordered two courses of this. My following course, which I had ordered in the middle of my dinner was a small filet mignon accompanied by an oxtail croquette. The filet was good, but not mind blowing, and the oxtail croquette was the most flavorful single item I’ve had on a dish ever. It tasted so strongly of red meat yet had this awesome crunch as it was a croquette. Accompanied with the accouterments of the course it was still a very good course overall. The biggest downside of this course was the odd plating. Which accompanied only ¼ of the plate and was not centered. Not really sure what they were going at with this. Finally we approach the dessert course. For the dessert I was served a beautifully presented lemongrass panna cotta with pineapple and ginger. This dish, though extremely good was overpowered by the chances of ginger and would have been better without it. However that doesn’t distract from the fact that the lemongrass panna cotta on its own was absolutely fantastic. This was the biggest«miss» of the meal, and still, it’s something that i’d be extremely happy about in 99% of restaurants. I assumed the next thing to be presented to me would be my check but instead I received a fancy chocolate and if memory serves a whipped cream of some sort to accompany it. Only after this was I presented with my check, and only upon request. After I charged it to my room I was additionally presented with macaroons, I believe they were mango as after I had one of them my throat was swollen and I conked out for an hour, a similar allergic reaction to what occurs when I hate mango. The total expense including tip was around $ 68USD, or the price of a low end steak at Wolfgang Puck’s CUT in Los Angeles. It’s amazing how much value you can get in Prague. I’ll definitely head back to The Alcon on my next visit to Prague and enjoy the amazing food in a nice relaxed atmosphere. Who knows, maybe next time I won’t rush through my courses and only spend an hour and forty five minutes to eat a five course menu not included the extras. My suggestion. If you’re going to be in Prague make a reservation because it is definitely worth it, even if you’re not staying at the Radisson Blu Alcon.

Great food, excellent service. We had a 3 course menu experience for lunch and loved it. Every bring cooked to perfection. It’s worth checking this place especially if you are staying at the Radisson Blu, which was our case. The ambiance is on the negative side, but the food is great.

Nice setting and friendly staff. Food was mediocre for the cost and English wasn’t great. Had some trouble with letting them select our wine, not very knowledgeable on that subject.

The only thing that I can say about the Alcron is that it opened my eyes to how food really can taste. The Alcron’s Michelin star is incredibly well deserved, and really I couldn’t say enough great things about this establishments. In stark contrast to Nic C’s experience, my girlfriend and I found the wine-pairings to be truly exquisite when we went there for dinner, and if you can afford it I definitely recommend it. Favorite dishes? The Dover Sole filet was amazing, and the Sous-Vide Venison is absolutely to die for. Overall, I’d definitely try to tackle at least 4 courses — if you can. 10⁄10 will be eating at again next time I’m in Prague.

DONOT get the wine pairing. It is ok wine, but cheap and not paired well. Considering the price of pairing I highly recommend against it. That said the food was right on par with a michelin star resturant. The service was also fairly good, but not great. Minus the wine pairing id go again

This tiny restaurant has recently been awarded a one Michelin star and it’s well worth the visit. To start, make sure you make a reservation, because the room is seriously tiny, seating approximately 6 – 8 tables at a time. Their menu is mostly seafood-based and for dinner you can select between 3 to 7 courses within the menu. The price ranges from 35EUR for 3 courses to 70EUR for 7 courses without wine. If you want wine pairing then it’s simply double the price. It’s extremely reasonable! Lunch is selected a la carte. We got the 5 course with wine pairing and it was more food than we can handle. The food was AMAZING. Together, we tried 10 courses: — tuna tartare — langoustine with artichoke salad — imperial oyster and beef carpaccio on bed of cucumber salad — beet root with goat cheese with chocolate crumble — roast duck foie gras — red prawn with japanese bouillabaisse — sole with cottage cheese gnocchi — venison sous vide with truffle-chestnut purree and cranberry reduction — strawberry vanilla cheesecake with raspberry sorbet(It tasted more like custard!) — milk bar(cake) with coffee mousse and raspberry sorbet My favourites were the langoustine, fried foie gras, and the VENISON. GETTHEVENISON! Although the menu changes slightly depending on available ingredients, I wouldn’t hesitate to try anything there.
