Corte di Angelo

When it comes to the area around the Andel metro station, for me, this is one of the better options in terms of Italian restaurants. The place is kind of hidden in a courtyard, which is amazing when you decide to be setting outside in the garden.
The menu is very typical and you should not expect any superb meals but at the same time you can be assured that you will always get at least an ok meal. The restaurant is quite spacious, yet, it can get crowded during the peak hours and especially when the weather is nice, so, if you are planning on heading here with a larger group it might be a good idea to make a reservation.

A great, almost authentic Italian restaurant with rather low prices and good-​quality food. They have a large variety of dishes from Italian cuisine, and pizza and pasta are delicious there. However, the desserts weren’t as good in my opinion. The level of service is usual, the place is quite big and roomy, and they also have tables outside.

Das «Corte di Angelo» liegt im Prager Stadtteil Smichov, wo sich auf der Straße Nadrazni einige Restaurants und Cafés finden. Etwas geschützt vom Trubel ist man dadurch, dass das Restaurant an einem kleinen Innenhof von der Straße weg liegt, der im Sommer garantiert einen schönen Biergarten abgibt.
Drinnen geht es lebhaft zu, auch Einheimische kommen zum Essen oder nur auf ein Glas Bier oder Wein hierher. Für ein romantisches Abendessen nicht wirklich geeignet wegen der vorherrschenden Lautstärke und Hektik, aber ungemütlich ist es auch nicht. Sehr geeignet um schnell und unkompliziert etwas essen zu gehen und sich dabei nett zu unterhalten.
Die Bedienung ist freundlich und schnell, nichts dran auszusetzen. Dafür gab es beim Essen selbst Licht und Schatten, bzw. Schatten und Licht. Die Vorspeise (Bruschetta mit Tomaten) war einfach schlecht: Jede Menge Tomatensalat auf zwei schwarz gerösteten und steinharten Brotkanten, das war wirklich gar nix. Dafür war der Hauptgang, Filetsteak mit Rosmarinkartoffeln und Bohnen, sehr gut. Das medium-​rare Steak eher Richtung rare als Richtung medium, aber das macht mir persönlich wenig aus, im Gegenteil. Auch die Kartoffeln waren knusprig geröstet, die Pfeffersoße schön abgeschmeckt, einfach aber einwandfrei und lecker.
Übers Preis-​Leistungsverhältnis holt sich das Restaurant dann den vierten Stern und den insgesamt guten Gesamteindruck: die Vorspeise, Filetsteak, 2 Getränke und Espresso hinterher für umgerechnet 17EUR. Schön :-)

This is a pleasant and good-​value pizzeria and Italian restaurant in the Smichov area of Prague.
Occupying a quiet courtyard just off the busy Nádražní road, near the main exit and tram stops for Andel metro station, it has a nice private patio for outdoor eating in summer.
The food is standard Italian fare, and whilst it’s not gourmet, it’s perfectly acceptable, with generous portions. Expect to pay around 350 Koruna (£8.50/12.50 Euro) a head for a two-​course dinner with wine and coffee.
It seems to be very popular with locals and tourists alike. Service was cheerful, and the staff were very pleasant (and, as we found elsewhere in Prague, spoke good English).
