I didn´t have any high expectations because of Bohemia Bagel close to Small Town square. I used to go there but it got worse in the last couple of years so I don´t even go there so often as I used to. But we were in Holešovice this time and it was a time for a brunch so we decided to try this place and I have to that we were pleasantly surprised. It´s nothing like Small Town. Place is big and nice. It´s divided into two rooms. The smaller room is decorated in kind a Art Nouveau style. I felt a bit as in a cheesy château :-) Otherwise enviroment is nice and friendly. Service was very good. All our wishes came true. Tap water came with lemon and ice. No complaints there. Meals were very good too. Full Monty and Charles IV. didn´t dissapoint. Only one egg was a bit overcooked but otherwise no complaints. Coffee is probably the only achille´s heal but it´s not so bad. Let´s say that it´s a small achille´s heal. So the result is that if to wanna have a brunch in the Bohemia Bagel, go to Holešovice and avoid Small Town.

Great food, huge portions. Everyone at my table enjoyed their meals for a late breakfast. We arrived at 3pm on a Saturday and it wasn’t busy at all. We were greeted by friendly employees and they catered to us immediately. I ordered the bagel French toast, they weren’t able to substitute the bacon for sausage but I ended up switching with a friend. The flavored were fantastic and I ordered a side of egg whites which were prepared perfectly(you can totally mess up egg whites) the fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious as well as the blueberry smoothie. Also very good pricing, I wish we found this place sooner, give it a try!

So, here’s the thing — those of us who have been here a long time have long become accustomed to crappy service: inattentive wait staff who act like they are doing you a favour by serving you, and who resent your presence because it means they have to work. This is just part of the traditional social landscape here. But few places have servers that are actively hostile to you, like at this branch of Bohemia Bagel. I mean, beyond rude. Rude taken to new places, almost an art form. But not in the cute way some restaurants have(like Katz’s in NYC, or Café Sport in San Francisco) — just a thoroughly unpleasant experience. And yes, they say snotty things about the customers in Czech, because they assume you can’t understand them. There are a couple of okay servers, when they aren’t embroiled in one of their frequent personal crises, but most are just shockingly douchey. Don’t worry, they won’t spit in your food — that would be too much effort. But they will let you know how much they hate you and everything about you. Which is a crying shame, because the food is sometimes pretty good(when the cooks can be bothered to pay attention), and the interior is funky and fun. And they are open late. And they have good beer. And they have American-style pancakes. And it is right near where I live. We used to go in here all the time, but then new staff came on board who have decided that they loathe every single person who comes in that door, and they want you to know it. So, we don’t go here anymore. We try them out every six months or so, but this has been the story now for a long, long time. So, this place makes me sad. Go to the other Bagel in town instead.

East coaster happily finds small bagel chain while vacationing from US in Prague!!! Pop in and enjoy a beer & a bagel! There are several locations in the city.

Wow, wow, wow! I was so happy when I found out I could have an American breakfast while in Prague. I had pancakes, scrambled eggs with cheese, and french fries(thought I ordered home fries) and it was all so delicious. it was a tad pricey according to my college student budget, but I didn’t regret one bite. The apple juice tasted fresh and refreshing, though it was small.

Not a bad place! Has a cool-looking bar(I didn’t order a drink but it looks like a decent place to hang out.) Got a corned beef bagel that was very good but had a lot of toughly cooked meat & fat in it. Really should have been trimmed. The hummus appetizer was very good!

When my mother found out I was moving back to Prague, she got very excited about the pancakes. This is my favorite location of the three and, while more expensive than the other two, I find it totally worth it. The coffee is better, the pancakes are better, the clientele is better, all things making it worth the tram ride. The décor is a little funky, but that adds to the experience. Seriously, if you want really British or American style brekkies come here and you won’t be disappointed.
