Saw this place on Unilocal looking for a spot of lunch…
Great little place, lovely friendly atmosphere, good range of beers and good food and friendly service… in my book that’s every box ticked. Will be back again on my next trip to the area.

Really nice pub. We were visiting York for the weekend and staying just up the road from this pub. There are a couple of pubs on this road and we chose this one. We are glad we did. Three things stood out.
1 great service
2 great food
3 lovely relaxing atmosphere.
Although the car park is quite small this should not put you off. There is a small seating area out in the front.
Inside the décor is very nice, with an open fire place which is used in winter. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
I recommend this pub to all wanting a quiet drink, although there is a not a wide choice of beers on offer, that shouldn’t matter.
Highly recommended.
