It’s a nice enough bar. More like a student type of place — I used to go here back in my younger years, but I’m sure it has changed a bit since then.
Good for music lovers.

I enjoyed seeing all the pictures of my idols across the walls, with particular attention to the Stone Roses of course. Unless you have an interest in Indie music of yore though then I don’t really see any charm to this place. No ale, just got a half of Thwaites smooth (meh).
The TV feed in the pub shared disappointing musical facts with anyone who cared to follow. The most horrendous of these were the fact Led Zeppelin, R.E.M and Depeche Mode have not had a number one single between them, while Rihanna has had 10. Sort of makes you embarrassed for ears in general.

Stone Roses is my favourite! It’s a great pub, they play good music (indie and rock mostly) and there’s a bit of a dance floor as well as seats upstairs and downstairs. Upstairs is like a balcony so you can see/​hear everything still. They have good drink offers on such as a triple spirit and mixer for about £3.50 and I also love the décor and pictures in there. Bit dirty but then I don’t really care about a few triple vodkas!

Another great bar with amazing music and great price. Bit short on seating but great atmosphere and décor. Go here quite a bit if you just want to drink and listen to music no chance of hearing what your mate is saying to you.

This bar has a great atmosphere. I come from a place just outside Manchester so felt really at home with the ‘baggy indie’ vibe thats created here! The only thing that annoys me is its in York! why havn’t we got on of these as a tribute in Manchester… maybe in time they will expand!

This is quite a popular bar in York, situated near the river. It is an Indie theme bar as you can tell by the name. It is decorated with a lot of Indie memorabilia and pictures. The drinks are reasonably priced and the music is good. It is a very friendly place and a good place to go if your out in york.

Sehr nettes Pub im Herzen von York.
Eine sehr angenehme Atmosphäre, Erinnert an alte Studentenkneipen.
Das Essen und da besonders die Burger sind fantastisch, kein matchiges Fastfood sondern wirklich alles Handgemacht.
Eine gute Bierauswahlzu empfehlen ist Met-​Alé, nicht süß sondern herb mit Honignote.
Die Preise sind für GB wirklich günstig und der Service ist es auchund das ist in GB eine Ausnahme.
Wer Hunger hat und nicht viel investieren möchte aber trotzdem gute Qualität verlangt sollte unbedingt ins Stone Roses gehen.

This is a lovely pub with a great atmosphere. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced and there is always a good range on offer. They have a very good selection of beers. This is an ideal place for Yorks student population.

This is a really nice pub, a bit student like but it’s a good, cheap place to have a drink. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is good, with good indie music playing. It’s near The Gallery club, so it’s a good place to call into on your way to there.
