Tucked away inside a castle wall turret(yes tucked away inside a castle wall turret) this absolute gem of a place is somewhere that everyone who is wanting to walk the famous walls should drop into to get a well earned caffeine fix before heading off for the day. Inside there’s surprisingly seating for around 20 people while there’s also a few tables and chairs outside for those lovely summer days. There’s a large counter selling great coffee, tea and snacks — it’s always a good sign when ‘flat white’ is the first thing you see on the menu when you go in. Flat white me up indeed! So a really good find, the coffee was great and somewhere that should be hunted out over all the chains around the town — fantastico! Oh yeah and it’s also only about 5 mins walk from the train station.

Small friendly, wonderful coffee, great cakes and sarnies. The ultimate non-chain tea room in a medieval tower. What more can you ask for. The cinnamon bagels are a must try. And if it’s full try the sister coffee shop around the corner on Gillygate
