One of the only places that I know in York where you can find great big slabs of Dime bar cake on sale(if there’s other places, let me know)! I love the fact that at Strensall Fisheries theres a sign in the window saying ‘Frying tonight!’ it always makes me think of the carry on film ‘Carry on Screaming’! so funny The fact that there is ALWAYS a queue at this place speaks for itself, the fish and chips are incredibly yummy! The chips are the perfect crunchy with out being greasy and the fish is cooked in a lovely crisp batter, oh and the fish — always fresh! so fresh it almost glows white. for the folks who aren’t so keen on fish,(actually I’m not a huge fan) there is also the option of pizza! and the usually chicken and burgers that you can so often find at chippies nowadays. So all in all, if you’re not from Strensall — make an effort to pop up and give Strensall Fisheries a try!
