a multi lake complex with a match lake(horse shoe) containing smaller carp and a multitude of silver fish. a carp lake with a good stock of carp to 30lb, tench to 5lb, lots of rudd, and some barbel which are about 4lb currently. the site has camping/caravanning facilities, a café(very good fry up breakfast for under £3) toilet blocks, and good access, some pegs suitable for disabled anglers. i have had good success using loose feeding halibut pellets with maggott and soft mint flavoured pellet hook baits adjacent to reeds down the sides on the top of the near shelf approx 2m out in about 1m of water. the rudd roam around in shoals all day and a bag of over a hundred in a day is not unusual. my last trip saw me land 5 carp between 8−14lb and several perch and a bag of rudd. no keepnets(except on matches of course) i find a size 14 hook tieed straight onto low diameter 6lb line gives good sport, plenty of bites and i dont lose many fish.
