La Cremeria

Homemade ice cream, yum. This little mom and pop shop make everything fresh daily in the morning, and they don’t freeze anything overnight. They also make different flavours as well — but when I got there, only mint chocolate was left. Not that it’s bad, but the unique flavours were all sold out for the day. I was determined to come back the next day, but the sweet owner still gave me a cone on the house! I did request for a peanut butter toffee with maple syrup and bacon, and he did follow through! The next day, he had a tub of PB&T ice cream and drizzled my cup with syrup and bacon bits. Only £2/​1scoop, £3 for 3 scoops. So cheap and so good.

Such a cute little café and ice creamery! Truly a treasure located on the main street of York. We went in there for lunch and had so much fun. My friends and I all got milkshakes that were made out of their homemade ice cream. We talked to the owner who happened to be our server about the restaurant and he was so proud to say that they made their own ice cream «the old fashioned way». He really took pride in his café and you could taste it in the food as well. The sandwiches were simple yet very flavorful and presented beautifully. One odd thing they did here was serve Pringles with the salads. I thought it was cute and they added some crunch to the meal. Definitely a great place to grab lunch, tea or dessert, La Cremeria is a welcome change from the usual ho hum pubs that you find in smaller English towns.

Fantastic homemade italian style ice cream. A truly unique product in York. Interesting flavours, homemade each day, served in healthy portions, at prices you wouldn’t believe for such a special treat.
The coffee can be a bit hit or miss depending on who is making it, hence the dropped star. But when it hits, it hits.

love it! great ice cream all homemade on site, and the coffee is roasted daily in the roastery next door. you can even go in and look at the roasting machine. Service always great and lovely cakes!

la cremeria is a lovely little café and ice cream parlour on low petergate, near the york minster. They have nice coffees, teas and chai. But, my favourite thing about this place is definitely the ice cream. They have home made ice cream and sorbet. It is by far the best ice cream in york! My personal favourite is the coffee ice cream. They have a little window open during the summer so if you don’t feel like sitting in you can order your ice cream to go and walk about the city whilst eating. Fab place! The staff are also very friendly.
