Harvilles Restaurant

This place had closed down and is now Mumbai Lounge-​fantastic restaurant!

My husband and I love fish and were excited about the Oyster Bar downstairs, however on three occasions it has not been open and on the second from last occasion, we decided to dine in the restaurant.
The décor is pleasant and looks promising but it took a while for staff to greet us, despite the fact it was very quiet.
The service left a lot to be desired. We waited ages to be served and eventually had to request a drink and then that took ages to come too!
I ordered a chowder in a hollowed out roll and when it came, it looked very appetizing and well presented and so I was extremely disappointed to find that it was terribly bland and unseasoned; indeed if it had been seasoned at all! It’s only redeeming feature was that the fish was cooked well; not overdone, just right in fact which was a great pity as this could have been a great dish.
I don’t remember what my husband had because his was nothing to shout about either.
We visited again because we believe in giving restaurants a fair crack at the whip; after all we all have off days but we were disappointed once again and I am afraid we have decided to spend our money elsewhere.
In my opinion, this restaurant offers poor value for money, with poor service, untrained staff and bland food.
I have given it two stars because the décor was nice and the fish was well cooked but I think that is rather generous.
However, we won’t be going back.
