Hooch is back! Reminding me of celebratory post exam drinkings at the end of my school years. Boy am I glad to see that malevolent lemon again! Decent spoons — in addition to the Hooch I had a beer called something like Fireside and enjoyed the Lamb Cowl, a Welsh dish that their pubs west of the border offer. The negatives… the usual downside you generally get with Wetherspoons. Named after an American Merchant of Welsh heritage.

Wetherspoons represent some of the best value places to drink on the high street and few places can compete with their prices. The problem with this is that it tends to attract people who want to drink a lot for very little. This can mean that the clientele are peculiar bunch. There is no better place to find old men with tattoos or tracksuit clad cap wearers. A glance at the front entrance can bring to mind the old Barnham and Baillys circus. Wetherspoons is cheap. The food is cheap, the drink is cheap. If cheap is what you want, you will find it here in abundance.
