Food poisoning for my friend and I. So severe that environmental health had to be involved. Turns out many people poisoned after eating there the same evening. No compensation offered. No way I would ever go back

A nice easy place to get to from where I live. It is disapointing that the resturant menu is not served outside. For that reason, I give 2 stars

Let’s face it — if you want a la carte then you wouldn’t go to a harvester. In terms of value for money harvester is hard to beat. The service here is generally good — perhaps slow on the bar sometimes. But when you pay six pound for a main meal with a free salad thrown in, this is hard to beat for filling, cheap food

Visited on a Saturday lunch-​time with all of the family.
Even though there was hardly anyone in the restaurant, we had to wait an age to be seated, which was not a good start to our first visit here.
We usually find Harvester Pubs clean & tidy, but unfortunately this was not the case with this pub. The area where we were seated had food remains on the carpet and there were several tables that had not been cleared away.
We than had to make two requests for someone to take our order, eventually someone came about 15 minutes after we had been seated.
The salad bar looked like it had seen better days & most of the salad must have been there for some considerable time. The main course was good, but we avoided having a sweet as we didn’t want to be there for another hour!
We would not visit this pub again based on our experience.

As a fore note, I would give all Harvester restaurants 3 and a half stars, because the limited menu (in variety) always lets them down.
As of writing (April 09), the menu consisted 60% of spitroast chicken + a sauce. And if you go for the Early Bird Menu, it is 70−80% spitroast chicken. Although only £5-£6! Which is very good for the amount of food you received.
The salad cart is free and unlimited and you could easily fill yourself up on this alone.
The service at this particular Harvester was friendly and helpful.
And the food came quickly.
In all respects, I should give this place 4 – 5 stars, but the limited menu really does detract from its greatness.
