Just visited the Goose today first time in along time. It’s improved no end since my last visit which although wasn’t bad was nothing to cheer about either.
The barstaff were friendly and helpful the drinks reasonable, the food was the best meal we’ve had in the city centre for a goodlong while as well as more than reasonably priced and the waiter was pleasant and thoughtful concerning the kids needs.
The only negative I could think of would be the fact there was no childs menu printed, although its on the till and the barstaff eager to help.

The goose is great!
I always spend a while here on a night out having a few drinks.
Gets busy on Fri/​Sat!
Drinks are very resonably priced, which probably contributes to the reason it gets so busy on Fri/​Sat — because people want to get drunk for cheaper before they go to the other clubs when the Goose closes!
Even when you’re not out to get drunk, the Goose is good. Well spaced, lots of staff and a good food menu too. Also has Music & Televisions.
Toilets (mens anyway) are terrible though. They have a bit of a reputation for this.

I went in for the first time in ages, and I was pleasantly surprised by a very nice Santa’s Tipple ale, at £1.75 if memory serves.
Then the lights went out!
After they came back on again, I had another pint, but it was becoming noisy and rowdy, so I legged it.

Cheap ale, cheap food. Gets very, very busy at weekends and it can be a struggle to get served. Gets loud too. Toilets are horrid lately.

Can’t fault this place, always a good starting point and meeting place for the nightlife. Very cheap, just like weatherspoons but without the very older clientele. Decent food during the day, cheap aswell. Good range of drinks

If your looking for a starting place for a night out in town then this is the place for lads, its quite cheap and definatly a lads pub, not many young women go in here its just to quite, but over all if you want cheap drinks all night and some where to talk then this is the place for you
