Great food! Fillet steak is «top of the pops»
You have to book or you could well be waiting an age or be disappointed! Unfortunately you can’t book on Saturday nights so avoid if you want to be hanging around most of your night.
Food A1, cost reasonable, service average, does get very busy and they cram you in! So may be sitting closer than you wish to other diners!

Amazing. Great food and service. Had to wait 1hr 30 for a table so we didn’t sit down till 8.30pm which wasn’t great having a 3 and a 6 year old with us but it was a Saturday night so they weren’t taking bookings. I understand they don’t want people booking and not turning up whilst they’re busy but I think they should take bookings and take deposits. Food is to die for though, the cheesy mushroom starter and the fillet steak with pepper sauce and the salad wedge with the garlic mayo and Parmesan. Wow perfect. Even the chips are lovely here lol. I’m always so full I never make it to dessert though, definitely got to try a desert next time

Food is ok, bustling atmosphere too. What lets it down is that you cant book. Hanging around for a table puts me off going.

After spending a week in Scandinavia on a diet of fish, I returned with a desperate need for meat — and plenty of it. Miller and Carter had been recommended by more than one person, and it certainly didn’t disappoint.
Excellent atmosphere, steak, service and drinks prices. The only (slight) downside was the starter (large nacho’s — £7.95) was not exactly… large. Ok for 2 to share… just, but the waitress said the portion would be fine for 4 of (2 adults, 2 children). Hmmmmm.
Warning! Get there early if visiting on a weekend. The tables are allocated on arrival — no booking, and the queue to get a pager was stretching to the door by the time we left. That said, I would happily wait an hour or so for a meal of that quality again. The bar area is excellent also with a real buzz about the place.
All-​in-​all, highly recommended!

Excellent place, cool décor, very friendly staff and excellent quality, good value food, a range to suit most hungry souls along with a wide choice of drinks.
Lunchtime menus also have some very good ‘doublers’ — have 2 mains for a significant cost reduction for budgetarian epicures.
Weekday lunchtime not desperately busy, unlike the evenings from all accounts. Plenty of space to choose ideal table, either in the more formal restaurant (with little ‘booths’ for more intimacy or the open tables) or the bar areas.
Outside, some nice little tables on the grass area, though a bit close to the zooming cars and bikers on the busy A449.
Tidy clientèle, no ruffians here — very nice place and as mentioned elsewhere, worth a trip out to.

We can’t remember the last time there were so many faults with a single meal. Three undercooked steaks out of six. Bizarre pile of salt on the garlic bread. Staff did their best to rectify issues.

Miller and Carter has fantastic food and its always really well cooked. The resturant is difficult to get to without a car but definately worth a trip down the Penn road for. The resturant is always busy and last time we went we ended up waiting over an hour for a table as they wouldnt let us book but the bar has a great atmosphere and the time went really quickly. The service was great and the staff are very friendly. There isnt a huge range of vegetarian food but if you like a good steak you will love Miller and Carter

This is a steak house so there’s not a huge selection if you’re vegetarian. Fantastic chips! Gets busy on a Friday night and you can’t book, you just have to turn up and wait for a table, but the food’s great!
