As the name suggests the theme here is teak. Wood panels extend as far as the eye can see, interspersed with intricate ornate wood carvings and other traditional Thai ornaments. I’ve been here a few times and the food is generally fairly good yet I struggle to be overly enthusiastic about it. We opened with tempura vegetables and golden parcels, the parcels were tasty but a little light on the meat while the tempura was just way too big and the batter, while quite light was not quite cooked through. Jungle curry was good as was sticky rice and the noodle and vegetable side was nice and spicy. Given you aren’t spoilt for choice for Thai restaurants in the area then I would say the Teak House is worth a visit, it’s on the good side of average but it’s not somewhere I would travel miles to get to.
