If you’re after a cheap night out then the Khyber Pass could well be the curry house for you. It’s not exactly in the best part of town. Situated on The Broadway — better known as the road that the station is situated in — you’re not necessarily going to pass it on your way into town — you need to know it’s there. But it’s worth the detour. The Khyber Pass is a small restaurant but the staff couldn’t be much bigger in their welcome. The décor is typical for an Indian restaurant and the seating is close together, so ths probably isn’t the place for a romantic meal. On the other hand though, you’re not going to find yourself in a rowdy place. The menu is nothing spectacular — you’ll find the usual range of dishes. All dishes appear to be fresh. It won’t be the best curry you’ve ever tasted, but it shouldn’t be the worst. Spice levels accord to the menu. The food always seems to be reliable. The prices are competative for the Woking market and £20 will certainly get you a meal for two. There are often special offers which make it even better value. Parking can be an issue although there is street parking outside restricted hours or you can use the town centre car parks Recommended
