The club is one of the last bastians for gentlemen. They have half of the club for members not as luxurious as the lounge. This area is for smart dress attire where the bar area is for workmen in working clothes. So people in smart dress will not clash with someone in their overalls. Great bar staff Beer prices went up since last review by nosey ROSIE6. But the out of date committee needs replacing and new blood in & old wood out. Six people this year opted for being elected onto the committee five failed they would have brought new life into the club. If you have any friends who are members come and try a nightout anything from £2.50 to £10 for some charity nights. £3200 has been raised this year so far and split between two charities so far this year which the club supports. Sometimes on the £10 nights there might be a hot meal or a buffet included in the price.

The Irby club is a strange place! It’s an invitation only establishment that serves cheap ale and spirits and has fruit machines that have £500 jackpots! I think you either have to be a direct relation to a current member or have to sign in with a guest with two members vouching for you if you want to drink here! I’ve not been inside as I’ve never had the privilege to be a direct relative of a member, but I’ve heard it’s a very close knit atmosphere, much like the old days of working man’s ale houses and village social clubs. I think they have darts and a darts team and I’ve heard that the ale is incredibly cheap! I know that they have a full bar that consists of lots of spirits and beers and a minimal selection of cheap wines! I’m not sure that they serve food but there’s a great chip shop over the road!

This place needs to change with the times, its still a mens club ladies not allowed in the bar. Ladies are allowed in the lounge but must be signed in by a member can only be a member if you are a man and if you fill in a form and get 2 nominees to sign for you who have to be members of the club. There has been some good nights here we have been to private parties which have been really good and members are not allowed in until after 9pm so that the guests of the party can take there seats first and the last saturday in the month they have a cabaret night tickets normally £5 not a bad night usually, on the positive side the drink is der cheap and i mean cheap about £1.30p for a pint cant get that anywhere else in Irby!! Just could do with some women on the commitee then we probably would see some life back into the Irby Club!!!
